they are pretty similar in performance, but the HD 3650 seems to be just a tiny bit better so i would suggest getting that.

They'd be decent for today's games. Not mind-blowing or anything, but not terrible. I'd suggest the HD3650 as well.

Thanks for the info/replies!!

I love to play sports games but have my eye on Call Of Duty 4.

Will the HD3650 and my system specs handle that game as I've read that it uses a lot of power.

Thanks again.

it performance would be quite similar to my 8600GTS and to be honest if you like eye candy then your going to have invest in something like the 9600GT or HD 3870 at least, it does depend on what your consider playable.

Wait, what's your CPU? These cards will run every today's game, but on rather low resolution and detail levvel. Go a least for 8800GS/HD3850 if you only can afford it (they're both ~ 75 Pounds including VAT).

Yes, because EVERY graphics card thread must involve the 8800GT. It costs nearly three times as much as those cards he picked out in the UK, I wouldn't even bother bringing it up especially since his power supply is most likely unfit for the 8800GT.

It's like a new internet fad :P, every GPU thread HAS to have a reference to the 88GT, otherwise the universe will implode.

I am not sure about UK prices but here in Canada, you have the option of either buying a Superclocked 9600 GT for about $164 CND or a 8800 GT for about $179 CND.

I can't recall seeing even a 9600GT for less than 100 quid, and the 8800GT cards usually start around £120 if my memory serves. Even the 8800GS/9600GSO are above £80.

9600GT £88

8800GT £113

So you're just off, not by much though.

Thanks for the info/replies!!

I love to play sports games but have my eye on Call Of Duty 4.

Will the HD3650 and my system specs handle that game as I've read that it uses a lot of power.

Thanks again.

daviecooper

If that is the case, try the 8800GS... $100 after mail-in-rebate and comes with CoD4... So it is like you are getting the GPU for $50... The reviews on Newegg.com are saying it maxes CoD4, runs Crysis on Med-High, and maxes all Source engine games...

Also I have no idea what the prices are in your currency, I am guessing 50£, or if retailers in the UK carry it... So I am sorry if my suggestion can't happen...

We wish, the 8800GS is £85. Only £4 less than the 9600GT. That works out about $170.
