Iam just wondering whether any of these 2 PSU's are any good? If you had to choose between the two which would you go for?
350W Silverstone ST35F Silent PSU 120mm Fan Dual +12V
400W NorthQ NQ-401AL 12-17DB W/120mm FAN ATX 2.0, PCI Exp

[QUOTE="daytona_178"][QUOTE="LahiruD"]Never heard about them. sorry man LahiruD
So Silverstone and NorthQ are unknown brands then?
I don't know about that.
I've never heard about them
well i have just looked up some reviews of the Silverstone PSU and it seems to be pretty well made. hmmm
Silverstone is a pretty good brand name. Still, 350W is a little low for todays gaming machines. What are you running?
Ok, now looking at your signature I feel like a complete idiot. ~grin~ You might want to pick something up in the 450W+ range for that 8800GT, I don't believe 350W will cut it. I moved from my Antec 450W in my Sonata II case to a PC Power & Cooling 750W PSU when I changed cases. Of course, this is part of a plan to upgrade my system in June so I needed the extra power. Still waiting for AMD to do something right with their processors and motherboards (not some confused mess of a board, something nicely put together like the Socket 775 boards from Gigabyte) or I pickup my first Intel chipset.

Thanks for the thought but this PSU is for a computer iam building for my brother. Its going to have a 8400GS and a E2140 so 350W is fine :) Good to hear that Silverstone is decent brand name though.
If you have (or perhaps had) a 520 HX why would you downgrade as far as 350 or 400 watts? Both PSUs would underpower your rig.

I have the 550 VX, and I love it to death.

Like i just said its not for my PC!
The silverstone should be alright... but I would consider one with more power so that you don't need to buy a completely new PSU if he ever needs even a small upgrade. If the price is really good though, I guess it's up to you.Munkyman587
Well the person iam buying it for is really boring so they would never need to upgrade rfor gaming reasons! Also as time goes on things are becoming vless and less power hungry (not including graphics cards).
