are these temperatures normal for stock cooling?

ok i have a intel e2160 stock clocks with stock cooling.

temps are like 38 idle and when tested with prime95 gets to like 70+. that seems like a huge increase. just wondering if its because of the crap cooler cant get the job done.

my cousins heatsink wasnt mounted correctly once and his temps got up to 99 C. I watched the temps drop 50 C instantly when i press down on his heatsink lightly. We fixed it and now his temps are fine

I'd invest in a nice aftermarket cooler, even if your not overclocking just to insure system stability and to increase the lifespan of your CPU.

Considering your not overclocking, I wouldn't say the Turniq 120, or any of the similar high end models. I'd say one of them good ole' Zalman ball coolers would do. Artic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 is also widly acclaimed.

BE WARNED! WARNING: I remember that one of the Zalman ball models had a certain design flaws and was actually worse than the stock cooler. I'm not entirly sure if the one below is, or is not that model, so be sure to double check. But I'm pretty sure that I have the right one.

Those temps are fine actually, higher than I personally like, but not dangerous.

Prime95 will stress the CPU WAY more than anything you will be doing, so if you only get up to 60 in games, you will be fine.

I would still recommend an aftermarket cooler though. The Arctic Cooling 7 is a great cooler for a good price, Newegg just raised the price $5, I bet you can find it elsewhere cheaper.
