Have you beat Far Cry 2 yet? or are you guys still trying to beat the game?
I'm still trying to beat the game.

Beat that game a long time ago, but I want to let you know that there is a thread by Baranga about the possibility of modding the game:

That might help everyone who is annoyed by some of the mechanics in the game.
I played it non-stop when I got it and beat it. It feels like I'm the only one on here who enjoyed the game, but personal enjoyment is of the utmost importance.MythPro1
The game had it's problems and annoyances, but I'm with you. I also enjoyed the game and think that it gets too much hate.

I beat it a while ago. At some point around 30% done I just said to hell with any side quests though. I got tired of them so I focused on story missions only.
Yeah, I did finish it, It really is a bad game, or rather some bad design decicions, I dislike the game so much, because alot of the game COULD be really good, but it just aint.
I have this compulsion to finish all games that I start, which have made me play some quite horrible games throughout my life, and some games that gave a bad first impression, but turned out really good :)
I bought it, first level ran perfectly on medium settings at a nice smoothe framerate, 2nd level I was blasted by an incredible ammount of terrible framerate not even allowing me to play.
So.. no i did not complete it ever

I'm on that list as well. I did finish the game and generally enjoyed myself. My biggest problem was that it's so clear that while I thought it was an OK game, you could kinda see how it could have aspired to true gaming greatness with some more work and some of the worst design issues resolved.
weird how people hate this game :s . I got it more than 2 years ago. I played it for a few hours everyday & finished it in about a week. took me about 20-25 hours to complete & it was awesome! People who just begin to play it find it boring due to limited weapons available to you. as you progress through the game more you unlock alot of stuff. The Grenade launcher was one of my favorite. like Everytime I saw a jeep following I jumped out & took enemies out from great distances. The game also gives you a Flamethrower & it's alot of fun to use as well. It's got many flaws.. but no way as bad as people think it is.
I loved how the actual shooting felt in FC2, there was a great sense of impact and the violence felt pretty real... unfortunately, the game itself was absolutely terrible. I generally play games for around an hour's stretch, and with FC2 it felt like it would take me half that time just driving through increasingly dull surroundings while figuring out how to get to any given location.
I play games to have fun and escape real life, not to be forced into some bizzare view of real life.
[QUOTE="SPBoss"]drive there.. do this.. drive back complete mission... so repetative and crap :)MythPro1Oh! So the entirety of the GTA series? but in gta you have other stuff to do so it doesnt get boring or repetetive.. seems like you havent played eflc either
Same here, I thought the feel of the guns was weighty and powerful (even though it took one too many shots to kill) and still unrivalled to this day. But the driving took too long and I kept on having the shock of my life when I heard that revving sound.I loved how the actual shooting felt in FC2, there was a great sense of impact and the violence felt pretty real... unfortunately, the game itself was absolutely terrible.
