The day people learn posting their specs when asking for help with issues like this I will eat my own underwear.

I don't think specs are needed, this sounds more like a missing texture issue.

Purple explosions aswell? Either his install is messed up really badly or there's some sort of driver/video card issue.

I run games like Sims 2 and grand theft auto San Andreas and i have no problems with them so i thought it must be down to an error with the game?

But surely if my computer runs the game it must be down to a missing texture or somthing?

ARMA2 is a pretty demanding game, I am surprised it even ran for you to be honest.

Maybe try a differnt graphics driver?

I would suggest the driver series called GANW*

*Get a new computer

Your computer is nowhere able to run ArmA 2 properly, I too am suprised that you managed to start it up and you can't compare ArmA 2 to Sims 2 and San Andreas, those games are way older and way less requring. And no you're not missing some sort of texture like you think.

yes your comp is too weak it is suprising that it ran at all. that celeron is equivielent to a 2.8 ghz or so p4. and your graphics card is too weak.

The fact that it even booted up is suprising.

You're GPU isn't support, if it is not supported there are certain libraries and graphical stuff that is just missing from the game code required to run on your PC.

I think it's time for an upgrade.

OS: Leave that. But it might be for the best to upgrade it to win 7 64 bit or vista 64 bit.

GPU: Upgrade ( 400 cards are the best around and the 700 mb 460 is £150 quite cheap but the 1gb is £200)

CPU: UPGRADE!!!!!

RAM: Holy crap.. upgrade it to 4GB.

And mark my words its worth the price.. you will be gaming in pure HD. :)

Well to do that he would need a new mobo along with a new PSU. So he might as well just get a new computer =/
