I think ARMA II willbe better. The developers behind the original Operation Flashpoint are doing ARMA II so I got to give it to them because of experience with this type of game. Operation Flashpoint 2 is being done by Codemasters who in my opinion is very hit and miss.

No, Codemasters published the original Operation Flashpoint.

Then how come the following places all say it was done by Bohemia Interactive, who alos does ARMA II ?

Codemasters was the publisher, not the developer, that is a far strecth from "creator".

Codemasters just own the name, so to answer the TC I can see another FaCry on our hands where the game is just riding on the name but wont be nothing like the original other then it being a FPS.

My pick is ArmA II

I'm hoping that Operation Flashpoint 2 will be a decent game, ARMA 2 is looking pretty tempting at the moment.

No harm done. I would have more faith in Codemasters if they had more experience in developing FPS but I couldn't find one FPS this gen that they developed.

OF2 hasnt been released yet, but im picking Arma 2. Arma 2 may have its technical problems but ironically enough it looks more like an operation flashpoint game than OF2 that just looks like an open battlefield 2. I mean just watch the gameplay footage for both games on youtube and you'll see exactly what I mean. So if you want realism and a true military simulator, look no further than Arma 2. If you want an FPS thats basically a slightly more realistic version of COD (and i use the term 'realistic' loosely) then give OF2 a shot.

operation flashpoint, it wont be borring like arma.....

OpFor 2 looks like it'll have a lot more polish than Arma 2 with pretty much the same features, and a streamlined user interface. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

There was a lot about Arma2 I wanted to like but couldn't so I'm hoping Operation Flashpoint makes a better go of it

ARMA II looks like it's aimed at the hardcore gamer. It's the sort of game i might pick up a few months from now, once all the bugs and glitches have been ironed out.

Operation Flashpoint 2 should be a more standard and accessible shoot 'em up.

ArmA 2's single player is 100% playable. Its that much of an improvement over the last one.
