oh yeah, its nothing like the run n gun fps's that are common. if you have any interest in military hardware and things like that you should love it. the editor is my favorite part, you can make your own levels and use (or have the AI use) any of the many military vehicles , units and weapons, its like a sandbox for military enthusiasts or people that just like to blow **** up. along with the many many addons like maps, planes, tanks and so on, you should get your moneys worth. theres no crazy DRM bohemia seems to be supporting it well with all the patches and expansions. i love this game to death so i'm a little biased :)

I might have been interested in this game. But I consider buying this game as buying starforce copy protection with a game attached. I would never buy another starforce game after experiencing what it did to my high end pc last time.

You're basically giving the rights to starforce copy protection to install and disable what ever drivers it wants in order to prevent you from copying this game.

That's some seriously insideous DRM involved and a complete deal breaker.

It runs great now with all the awesome patches.

Operation Arrowhead runs even better.

What? This game doesn't have starforce as far as I know. And as of the 1.5 patch the game doesn't have any drm at all.

On Steam ARMA 2 has no DRM as far as I'm concerned. Can't say about elsewhere.

Fantastic game if you do co-op of have a group of buds who are into the military culture. I'm having a blast playing the campaign with my friend, but I would never touch it playing alone. I love everything about the game, but it's hard to recommend for somebody coming off CoD or Battlefield. I wouldn't call ARMA a tactical shooter-- more like combat simulator. It's not "technically" tactical like Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six, but you do need to be smart and use military tactics because it's like an open world sandbox.

But Warfare mode is still awesome. If you're going to play ARMA, play it for that.
