Assassin's Creed $10: It worth it?

Hey guys, steam has a deal for AC for 10 bucks this weekend and I'm not sure if I should go for it.

I mean sure it's $10, but I've heard this game is pretty bad and that some people couldn't even finish the game.

I know this is purely in the eye of the beholder, but can anyone at least give me factual things like:

-How much gameplay will I get out of it?

-What makes it bad, or good?

-Think it'll be worth playing it incase AC2 is good?

-What's it like playing w/ mouse and keyboard? I dont want to spend money on that controller thing for one game

I got the game for $5 like 2 months ago. I didn't like it at all. It was so repetitive and just bored me to death. The mouse-keyboard controls are quite easy, I still found it easier to use a controller though. The story was really shallow for me...I cannot recommend this game. My opinion of course. :)

AC is a love it or hate it type of game. I personally thought it was a good game and IMO it's definitely worth $10 if you haven't played it before. The only issue is that IIRC the PC version was terribly unoptimized and as a result you need a beast of a computer to play it.

I'm just stating my opinion. Nothing more. I'm glad that you enjoyed the game though.:P

I played it on xbox 360 so i'm not sure about the controls but i thought it was a very fun game. Its true that it is repetative, but I didn't mind because I had fun pulling out my hidden knife thing and stabbing people and climbing around on every building and jumping off into a hay stack every time. I did think the story was pretty stupid as well especially the ending, but overall I thought it was a very fun game and worth the $10.

If your PC can max it out, then yes it's worth ten dollars - the game is an atmosphere game though. Like in Far Cry 2, if you don't enjoy the atmosphere, the game is going to 'bore' you very quickly.

I hated this game on the 360 and really enjoyed it on the PC - just because it looked so much better, and made the exploration so much more enjoyable. Don't expect a deep experience though. For ten dollars it would be worth your time. As long as your PC can max it out - if it can't then don't bother.

I honestly don't see how this game is shallow. It offers you the ability to use the terrain to escape enemies and move around faster. It gives you a good ammount of way to kill people. The animations are perfect and the character models are so detailed it's unbelievable. Plus its one of the few sanbox games where I wanted to explore the world, climbing up to the top of a Mosque and doing a leap of faith was just awesome. This game is so worth it.clembo1990

Great game. And its also a pretty good port. I reccomand you pick it up if its only 5$.

Jumping around the city thoe is the most fun part about the game.

First things first. Its a great game with tremendous potential on the plot... or story, w/e.

Thegraphics are great.

Controls... Well here I can somewhattell you... if you have a x360 controller then they are great (be sure to set them right, find the control map somewhere on internet because default is not as it is on consoles but its not a big problem setting them up). For if you have only M+K ask for that feedback since i didnt played it with it.

The gameplay was really good although it kind of gets (continue reading after next word) repetitive, BUT! It's as repetitive as you want it to be... it is for sure if you want to get every single piece of everything, and only because of the synchronization of the towers, because the missions, do have some variety and most of them are pretty entertaining, but you can skip that all right, and go for the main thing, the story just makes you go on. Also in theextreme case it gets too repetitive for you, you can play other gamesfor you to "desintoxicate" of the so awed "Repetiveness". As imo this game is a must.

Now getting back to the topic, lol I just remembered...I think all of thatbefore says: Why are you even asking if a $10 AC is worth it?

The 1st 5 missions are petty slow then the game will flow,a very good story but its quite repetitive anyway $10 is really worth....

I you ask me,it's worth a 100$,or more!

play it with out the radar ant it becomes alot more fun. you actually have to look at the buildings where your going rather than just follow a blip.

That game is worth $50 and its a good game so yes in my opinion it is worth it

Well I cracked.. I missed it the first time it was on sale, so I went for it this time. Already played the game on PS3, but I want to see what it's like with the graphics jacked.

Thats its pretty bad and people couldn't finish it. It was one of the best games of 2007.

Of course it's worth $10! But, like many others have stated, you WILL need a beast of a computer. For MINIMUM requirements you need intel duo core processor. Which, most computers don't have unless you have bought one somewhat recently. If you are really worried if you can run it, go to www.canyourunit.com

BUT, do not play this game in long hauls, its not made for that. Small bursts are the best way to enjoy this game.

No. It has a dopey sci-fi story that will just annoy you. Memory stored in your DNA? Ugh. You'll get bored with it. If you want a cheap stealth game on the pc try hitman blood money.

You must have not played it if you really think Assassins Creed was a stealth game...

It's worth $10... sure.
