Here is another question about this computer... Where can you take it to get it serviced? Would best buy do? I need to think about if there is a problem with it and it needs to be fixed.

I was about to get that laptop aswell, but it was a bit out of my budget, so i settled on the M50VN, the laptop is g8.

If ur laptop needs servicing, u can call ASUS ppl, and they will send a courier to pick it up at ur house, (yeah its betta than other manufactors).

Then when they have fixed it, they send it back, all free if its still under warrantee. I know this because my lasts laptop which was also an ASUS, had a faulty DVD drive.

Get it at Best Buy and get a service plan on it. Alot of the actual Geek Squad guys don't know too much but their service center techs are awesome. Plus if they can't fix it they give you a new one.

Also, they have cheaper ASUS's. The g50vt-x1 only cost 950. I noticed its processor speed was slower and also it didnt have bluetooth. What does bluetooth for a computer look like?

I don't think you can get the x6 from best buy, I only see the x1 and the x5.

you can't see it, it is an internal component that transfers data from other bluetooth devices such as phones or computers.

transfer data to and from other bluetooth enabled devices without a wire. Like pictures or documents. Its not really a necessary feature, but if it standardoption why not.

Whats the difference between the g50vt-x5 and g50vt-x6? Other than a little slower processor speed, Im not really sure. The x5's processor speed is 2.13GHz, as apposed to the x6 which is 2.53. Am I missing anything else? If not, Im not so sure that the difference in that processor speed is worth paying $400 more.

i agree, the newer games recommend 2.2 ghz. it would be worth it to get the better processor.

Well, it didnt seem like (based on the reviews) people who had the x5 had problems with maxing out games. Are there any games that cannot be maxed out on the x6?

i would bet most games now cant be fully maxed out with a 2.0Ghz processor and in the future it wont be able to play games at medium.... soo make it as future proof as possible.

depends what games you play. The newer games and crysis games are starting to demand more processor power. 2.3 ghz is about the cutoff for latest games. The thing about laptops is once you get it they can't be upgraded so make sure you get what you want. If you want to play the latest games you should look better than 2.1 ghz. Good gaming laptops are expensive. Its always been that way.

you can't max out crysis but no PC can. and probably not far cry2 either. But they are demanding even for desktops. Maybe you can overclock that 2.1 ghz? I don't know.

I went and visited the best buy again... and saw they had a Gateway p-7805u. The specs seemed similar to the Asus g50vt-x6, but it only cost $1050. I just now read up on some reviews and saw someone say the specs that it labled werent what the computer was really capeable of. Do you guys know anything about this?
