There were only a very few prototypes shown, and no promise of going into production was ever published that I read. It's a good idea overall, although the lack of protection for the video cards in it was not such a good idea, IMO.

Lack of protection? What do you mean?
The main problem was the supposed 1x bandwidth it would have received.
