Hi.

I am looking to buy a graphics card. My budget comes down to these two cards and they are the same price here in pakistan. So price is not a factor to differentiate between the two. The 4670 is from HIS. And the 9600GSO is from XFX.

I have a 17" lcd. And 350W Asus power supply. I dont think either of these cards should be a problem for the power supply?

So which one is better? Do both of them support Direct X 10.1?

Which one would you buy?

Thanks for your help!

the 4670 supports DX 10.1 and the 9600GSO supports DX10, not sure which is better, but ive heard they both perform the same apart from the odd exception.

Well, the HD4670 has lower power requirements.

The 8800GS/9600GSO overclock very well. Also XFX has a lifetime warranty, at least they do in the US.

I would only get the 4670 if the PSU was concerning you.

I will not be overclocking the GPU. And I am pretty sure XFX does not have lifetime warranty here. Its 1 year, i think.

Which card is better performance wise?

Get the ATI 4670, as there is a problem with the 9600 series of the Nvidia cards, Althought people said that the newer batch might be fixed with the problem but not mine. I got my 9600GSO during Oct, but when I played COD4 on optimun setting the game ended up Glitching the frame and repeating the sound byte. I've updated the Driver but it still does not work at all. If you do not trust me try googling up the 9600 series and see for yourself.

I'd be concerned about a lack of power from that power supply. While I've not looked at the 4600 range, I have just looked at the 4800 range which want a min of 450/500W PSU. Of course the individual rails are more important than the overall rating of the PSU, but still 350W seems very low.

the 4670 will more than likely perform better, honestly, and im an nvidia man.. but the dx10.1 matters none.... there will be no dx10.1 games(microsoft has already scrapped dx10.1)
