I am new to this whole ATI crossfire thing i know im behind on the times. What would be the best setup besides the 4870. I want to be able to get a good graphic card that eventually i could buy another to use with it is it better to do tha or just buy the best one i can find. I have always used ATI so thats why I am wondering. Also if someone could buid me a rig it would help me out tons. I am on a budget i still need to save up and I do not want to have a machine thats not very good. I wanna play everything on high but dont wanna spend much more then $800. Any help would be great. I am planning on a X4 920 processeor with 4GB RAM and at least 500GB hdd. Is all that necessary or would 3GB be good or less HDD.

You could always go for a 4870x2... but in all honesty i would just buy something like a 4870, and then upgrade to the 5000 series when they're out... if the 4870 starts getting slow before the 5000 series is out you could just crossfire another for pretty cheap

Do you currently have any gpu ? the R790 release soon (HD4990 & 995 (For X2) Will be Better Then current but costy more the 4870x2 is 330$ after mir on newegg.com to 350$ (highest price seen) Y

eah however it is unknow Lundy86_4 if the Series 5 Will be Extmrely Stronger then Series 4 : If not then Crossfire X will still defeat it it rather Gamble : some claim it could defeat for 400$ :The power of two 4870x2 but i hard to belive it.

Some say it could just be +50% over 4870 / 4990 (which is highly possible) if it +100% : then it mean it the power of TWO 4870 ? which is rather insane for a single gpu / dual gpu if such is perform. it be like drooling at it I hardly doubt how ever if they make a setup at 500-600$(From ati) which could defeat 4870x2 Crossfire X it would be Ecstasy lol

but who know with technology of today it growth so fast and sometime higher then u think

You guys are making suggestions for him to get a graphics card that's in the 400-500 price bracket... http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048%201305520549%20106792627%201067940679&name=Radeon%20HD%204870%20X2 ...... or wait till the newer 4900 series cards get released ?! ...He said his budget was around 800 or so max...your telling him to purchase a GPU that's more than half his spending amount.....that's not good advice. He should be look at something like a 4850, 4830 (that he could crossfire at a later date if needed)... or maybe a 4870 (some good deals on Newegg for under 180. ....But suggesting a 4870x2 ?,,,,come on now.
