Im building a dell and the only upgrade that it gives me is the 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro instead of the Intell Graphics Media Accelerator X3000, it costs 100 more. Should I just get the X3000 and then buy a 7900 gs for around 150 from newegg and install it myself?

Definitely get the X3000 and buy your own card.

The X1300Pro is a terrible video card.

the default PSU from a dell might be enough to power a 7900gs, but its definitely not enough for a 7950gt, x1950 etc, x1900

for the dimension 9200 (i think its the XPS 410 in the USA) they give you 350W, i think its 300W for the rest.

It's enough for any of those cards, and the 7950GT only uses like 5 more watts than the 7900GS..

its 305W, since he said x1300 or whatever is the best option offered by Dell, its not a XPS probably a Dimension E520 or something.

its a good idea to check the Dell forums 1st to see if there are alot of ppl that had success using a 7900gs, x1950 or 7900gt etc on the stock PSU.

it also depends alot on what other bit of hardware he has.
