Hi all. Im a fellow gamer like all, but now, I have somewhat abandoned PC gaming due to school and the fact that I have all 3 consoles. Its not that I dont like PC games, but you really have to have some sort of income so that you can upgrade your PC frequently. I have a laptop (Asus G1) and I am planning to sell that in order to get a Macbook since that is for school, work, movies, music and such. The computer that im using right now is like this:

3.0Ghz, 2GB Memory, and ATI X800XL 256MB

The ONLY game that I am looking forward to for the PC is basically Starcraft II. As I know, even the X800XL can run Crysis (Although who would want to anyways? xD) and I read from before that Starcraft II does not need high requirements. What Im wondering is if anyone would know if this old PC can still play Starcraft II, even on lower settings? Or must I get a new desktop when it comes out? but i would really like to know if this PC could do it since I dont ahve any money, and getting a desktop just for Starcraft II would be a big investment. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

really!? but its like 2 years old =\

cz if i cant play starcraft II on it, then i would have to consider between a Windows based PC with a good video card which would cost much more than a Macbook, and also not run some Mac applications that im interested in.

thank you for your reply!

Well, you could always get an Intel Macbook and duel boot XP, but I am pretty confident that your computer will be able to run Starcraft II just fine.

starcraft 2 is just a 3d version of starcraft 1. And its not an amazing looking one either. They're not going for graphics.

Thank you all! And yes, since Mac is intel now, Leopard can run XP and it is not in beta. But then the Macbook currently is using a Intel GMA950, which cant do much I guess except for Warcraft III. Unlike the Macbook Pro which has a Nvidia 8800 something. Since my target is just for word processing and some applications on iLife, then i am fine with Macbook. All in all, i thank you all for your help because now I dont need to buy a new computer!

one of my compturs is a very similar rig. It actually has an X800 in it. I can run Warcraft III 1600x1200 no problem without any hiccup. I'm assuming starcraft 2 will do just fine as well.
