Clive Barker definitely knows horror..... Undying is considered the scariest game ever made by tons of people (including myself).

No..no that wasn't scary at all. If anything funny, I can't find games scary..maybe because everything doesn't look real. Only game that gave me a shock was when I was playing Condemned and I turned around and answered my cell phone and turned back around to notice I was getting hit in the head.

I agree that games are almost never scary. However, System Shock 2, Call of Cthulhu, and The Suffering had moments.

Yes, every game I mentioned was released on PC, along with Clive Barker's Undying, which I never had a chance to play.

What about F.E.A.R.?  F.E.A.R. for me wasn't scary, just kind of a creepy atmosphere, what with the good lighting and such.  Also when you first see the invisible guys (forgot what they're called) scared the crap out of me, because I wasn't expecting it >.>.

Play Silent Hill and you might find games a bit scary ;). It's a genre - survival horror! FEAR is another genre - overhyped FPS. It can't be scary.

Oh, how could I forget - play Frbidden Siren for PS2. It gives heart attacks! I've always said Japanese just CAN.

That's where you and me disagree. I never liked any of the Japanese survival horror games. I've played a few of the Silent Hills, and Resident Evil 4 (I enjoyed the first three installments in the series much more). I prefer The Suffering over third-person survival horror any day.

I Agree with you. Silent Hill is the most scariest game that I have played. And yes - Japanese just CAN :) As for Jericho, I think it will be definetly a good game. Undying was amazing and Clive Barker knows how to make horrors :P. Maybe you should watch some of his movies, too :P

F.E.A.R wasn't that scary... just creepy. RE4 and the Silent Hill games does scary well and Jericho will more than likely be scary as well... although I'm more interested in the rather interesting sounding gameplay mechanics...

Stalker has some rather scary moments as well... especially the Rat Hounds and those Bloodsuckers that cloak themselves... Think of Bloodsuckers as a radioactive mutated Predator with no Arnold in sight:)

This isn't scary at all. It's really laughable.

Go play undying or FEAR for a real shock.

New trailer for Clive Barker's Jericho... scared the **** out of me!LiLsLashy

I am a trailer freak & I love horror games. That trailer is quite old & I downloaded it earlier from Gametrailers. I think that trailer is more 'disturbing' than 'scary', like the Bioshock trailer. Environment plays an important part in horror games & a scary game does not necessarily have to be disturbing like monsters with multiple heads, the most important thing in a horror game is to scare the player with a combination of lot of factors that plays tricks with his mind instead of making him laugh with rediculous monsters.

Anyway, You might find the trailers of Alan Wake interesting & the trailer of Alone in the Dark 5 is good too.

If its scary you want, try playing the original Aliens Vs Predator without the quicksave patch as a marine. Anyways Undying was pretty good, no reason to think this isn't. Plus the guy in chains does look like Marilyn Manson.

The only game I've ever gotten creeped out by is Doom 3. That "don't go around the corner" stuff really works. People say F.E.A.R. is scary, I say BS. The only thing that made it supposedly "scary" was Alma. Jericho looks cool, and eerie, but not eerie enough to scare me. I'll probably rent it before I buy it though.

You can really "rent" a PC game.

For all horror fans, try The Thing, too.

The original Suffering has some pretty good graphics for its time, which the sequel didn't improve upon. In fact, I hated Ties that Bind due to the fact that it simply felt like a rehash of the original. The Thing was decent IMO, even though most of the monsters looked like Crab Head clones from HL2.
