I know this is only the 360 review and not PC but I hope the god its not this bad. I was really looking forward to this game.

Just so you guys know I played the demo and the game SUCKS big time. I mean I loved the first two games but man does this one crash and burn. Gamespots review is correct. Giving this game an 8 is simply crazy. MP in this game sucks and feels completely sloppy compared to the other two games. At best I was hoping to enjoy the SP but when I heard it was worse than the MP I said to myself EPIC FAIL.....

Played about an hour of the Demo, wasn't terrible. I only played as the Predator. I Never saw a Marine - nor did ever see an option to select a Marine?? The Demo map seemed a bit small to get the full potential of teh Predator...Aliens vs Marines seemed like a more suitable fit for it.
I also never got to use any other weapons other than the Lance attachted to the Predator's arm, maybe I just didnt play enough. But again, the map seemed way to small for Predator.
So far, I'm gonna wait to purchase this game. I'll keep reading some reviews, listen for patches and add-ons, then I'll consider it??
Edit*BTW, a bad game is a bad game. Even though we triy so hard to want to Love something that should have been a total Win>! it doesn't mean that it has to. If it's truely a Mediocre game, so be it - the game, perhaps should have been tested more and actually beenallowed some time to take critisism in to account and changed to what the majority would have preferred to see.

As I said, you need to get used to it. it has much more of a realist feel to it which is why people are saying controls are bad, but they really aren't. Of course not everyone is going to love this game.. its just not for them.. but this really is a step up on the first person ladder, the people who have reviewed this game an given it a bad score, ive read and watched their reviews, and I am incredibly disappointed in what they go on about, they compare it to other first person shooter games, first mistake, they judge it terribly due to expecting it to be basically AVP 2 but with better graphics...2nd mistake.. those games were made over 10 years ago, they have experimented hugely in the game. they have not just taken modern warfare 2, put them in alien an predator costumes and go oh hey this is the new pc game, they put an amazing amount of effort into the game. even the small things are amazing, for instance, Predators have a focus mode, which brings up a leap cursor, which allows u to jump in amazing positions, this makes it incredibly interesting, and helps u aim ur jumping far more easier than usual. As for the alien, their cursor is also the leap function, if u aim it at a wall or roof it will highlight and if you press jump then he will leap up and attatch to the wall (if ur within range of course). Also to those who complain about the alien being incredibly disorienting and hard to play, WRONG, at first yes, but in the end it is incredibly easy to master. this game is revolved around a learning curve, and the people who are playing it is just not giving it the high fives it deserves because they don't have enough time to get used it. I know I have gone a little bit off topic through this post, but I really am just trying to explain to everyone that they do need to give it a huge go, because I have noticed the HUGE effort put into this game, and too me is a huge success.. Don't judge by the demo, don't judge by the reviews who have clearly put no effort into its formula what so ever. Play it, get used to it. you will be surprised at the end of the day of how amazing it truly is.Played for 2 hours at a friends place today... not impressed. A few rounds of the online was fun, but the singleplayer was god awful, soooo dissapointing as I LOVED the first two AvP games.

I get suspicious of Low Level - Noobers that come on here and give thier 2 cents worth about a game or hardwares. Not taht anyone would need to worry about them in the first place. My suspicion is rated toward their active contributes to GS and viewing other games.

Not everyone is goign to like this game, no matter how much you personally enjoy it. I loved the previous AvP games and I dont like this one, period.
Fun online but a bad singleplayer imo. I have no issues controlling the alien or predator. The shooting mechanics and gunplay for the marine are terrible. I can get kills fine, but it feels so bland and unsatifying getting a kill. Ill give the game some more chances, but after some hours im not impressed one bit.
In spite of the uncertainty of Is this a good game or not? - I have just purchased AvP am installing it now. I did enjoy AvP2 - I'm rooting for this to be better than anticipating. Not really a fanboy, but there are a few aspects that I'm looking forward to. I'll certainly be giving it a fair review. If it's somewhat okay, then I'll be satisfied. If it's abysmal - i'll be fair in saying that too. Either way, judging by ups and downs of critics, this game may come across as a 7. We'll see though. . .

Why am I a level 1 on a forum website, because I am a huge alien and predator fan, I have been chasing this game since it was announced, and so I thought I would throw my '2 cents' in it because this is something I have been looking forward to. As I had said before, I at first did not like it, but then it grew on me and now it is one of my favs. Your acting as if I am trying to advertise the game or something, which in a way I am I guess, considering I am trying to tell people they definitely need to give it a try. and me saying its one of the best...ONE of the best...I am saying that in the term of its definitely going to be a game I will remember. If I were to come out and say - I am a Total Fan of the COD series, then MW2 comes out of PC and I say - Its the greatest thing EVER ! ! I Gave it a 10 ! ! ! even better than COD4, well --read those reviews and u'll see what I'm talking about. Same goes with Wolfenstein.
I may have came off a bit arrogant, but I choose to be fair when truely commenting on a game. Sure everyone is entitled to thier opinion, but I personally like to know what I'm spending my hard earned money on. Just because is appeases the HardCore Fans, doesnt mean everyone else will like it....and money is wasted.
Further, if the game needs improvement - it's very important to speak out about that. AvP has so much potential, and if there is a lot more work to be done before a sequal comes out - its best to be honest now and hopfully we'll see an even better game in the future..

Well, the first part of my AvP review is. . . Trying to launch the game, it keeps locking up?? Same went for MW2 after i installed with Disk. So now I'm doing what I did with MW2, and that is, uninstall - and reinstall via Steam-Download client. Hopfully that will help.?

Further, if the game needs improvement - it's very important to speak out about that. AvP has so much potential, and if there is a lot more work to be done before a sequal comes out - its best to be honest now and hopfully we'll see an even better game in the future..

So far it seems that people (at least on PC) are really enjoying the game. I'm definitely buying because Gamespot is full of it. Their reviews have sucked, and I never go on one persons opinion.
I think this game is great for people that played the first two or are big fans of the movie franchises (and I mean Alien AND predator, not the AvP movies which are a big pile of horse sh**). If you are not a big fan of them, then it may just suck really badly for you. Just a hunch, I havent played the game yet (only the demo, and to be honest I had a great time playing DM :) )alvaro_pgYeah I had a great time playing death match on the demo aswell, but nothing on the species teamed death matches and all the others they got.

I played AVP2 competativley for 2 years, i have no doubt in my mind this will hook me also, not to mention the fact im a huge Alien/Predator buff.
The game will have its own niche audience i believe, all this complaining about controls and camera angles is rediculous, if you played the first 2 you would know what to bloody expect, the Predators mapping alone is a nightmare due to the sheer amount of tech he has but guess what REMAP ANYONE??
Camera angles? i played an Alien Runner along with Heavy Predator in AVP2 and yes being an Alien takes ALOT of getting used to with the wall running and pouncing etc, but you get used it man..
Guys I promise you, the game is AMAZING (PC version). The controls on it are a little chunky, but you just have to get used to it, its actually clunky because the movement is far more detailed than usual first person shooters. the campaigns aren't to long, but put them all 3 together they are a nice length. but this game was aimed far more on the multiplayer, and I have to say, the multiplayer is amazing.. I at first did not like it to tell you the truth.. i was uncomfortable... but I got used to it and now I have to say it is probably with out a doubt one of the best games I have ever played, its incredibly original, very different. and the melee combat system is so interesting.. its not just spam button an whoever got first hit in wins... it actually involves a vast variety of light attacks, power attacks, combos and blocking. and for a first person thats pretty different lol.. now I will warn you... the console version is supposedly a mess from my understanding, so I am only going by the PC version.. but hey... console...pfft xD, trust me give it a go, u have no idea what ur missing out on. EDIT: Don't judge the game on the demo btw. the demo is INCREDIBLY old, the only reason they released it is because they promised one ages ago. the demo is pretty unoptimized compared to retail version, plus it looks nowhere near as nice as retail version.. but of course the demo says that its only going by direct x 9 (i think), when its up to 11 on retail.AMCoreXI too own the game and i completely agree with this guy, the movement might seem weird at first but like he said it feels very real, i think the reviews are mixed because if you don't like the Alien/Predator franchise...why are you buying this game? and if you DO like it MAN i can tell you...this is what we have been waiting for since 1999 :D
