So I recently found out about this game called Forge. It's a mix of mmo style fighting with tight fps controls. I decided to buy it and it turns out to be a fantastic game. Unfortunately, it's an indie title and hasn't gotten that much publicity or funds. If you've got 15$ to spare I highly recommend it, and no I'm not sponsored or asked to say this, it's just a great new game. Your payment will get you into alpha immediately and beta later this fall. Just felt I should get some more people interested and playing.

That's all fine and dandy. But, for anyone who might actually be interested, a link to somewhere to buy/download would be great.

Looks kinda cool but. I don't like the Unreal Engine. They claim the prices of games have ballooned, but the opposite is in fact true. Less games use a subscription model and go with free to play. What really concerns me is that UE3 is horribly unoptimized for massive multiplayer games, as proven by APB.

Yeah probably decent. But first person shooters require excellent lag compensation and hit detection models to be considered viable as a competitive game. Otherwise you're just spray and praying and hope you might snap a lucky headshot. APB flopped really hard, look there for an example of an MMO/FPS using UE3.

I played the alpha and it is promising, needs quite a bit of work though. I'd definitely keep an eye on it.

well you know it isn't always the engines fault the game developers still need to make you know a game and netcode usually falls heavily on them. I have played UE games that have been lag free and UE games that have been horrendous. So yeah its more the programming than the engine.

Would love to see some more PVP focused MMOs. I think the market has become saturated with theme park games at the moment. PlanetSide 2 looks promising about now.

Archeage is bound to have great PvP and be PvP focused, being made by the man behind Lineage and all, I imagine the PvP will be awsome if he decides to use the same PvP system. As for Planetside 2, it's more FPS than MMO. But that doesn't make it any less awsome.

It's on Steam Greenlight. Vote for it. Game does look like quite a bit of fun.
