I don't know whether it's due to my schedule or attention span but I can't seem to stay focused on a game that's too long. Originally, I wanted to go with "non-RPG" in title, since these are usually the games that take 30-100 hrs to complete but hey, maybe there's a short one as well. So, as the title suggests, I'm looking for some good, yet "short" games. I'd like them to be sub 10 hrs, the shorter the better. I'd like you to prioritize AAA titles or so, rather than indies but it won't matter if you mention these. Just don't want the thread to be flooded with indies.

Note that the highest 10 hour mark should be reachable in a regular, first-time playthrough, not a speedrun or experienced play.

Tons of choices there.

Crysis franchise
Dead Space franchise
COD franchise
BF franchise
Syndicate
Hard Reset
Metro 2033
Bioshock Franchise
Far Cry 3 (if you don't get too distracted)
Spec Ops: The Line (maybe not AWESOME but pretty decent)

I know I'm missing a ton.

Duke Nukem 3D was one of the only games I've ever bothered to finish to the end. It didn't take long, maybe 8 hours. It was one of the most awesome games I've ever played, but it would be really hard to appreciate it as much as we did when it was new. It's not even real 3D, the enemies are all 2D cardboard cutouts basically. Today, there's a game called Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon which I think will live up to the same amounts of "awesome" but won't be burdened by crappy old graphics. Check it out I hear it's not a very long game either.

Im not sure there are AAA game that you can finish in less then 10hrs =\ The whole idea of AAA game is for it to be both very graphical and with a long developed story right?

No, you're confused. AAA means they spent more than half of the cost to develop the game on Marketing it.

No. The idea behind an AAA title is to put such a massive amount of money into making it pretty and then marketting it, that it will sell good (not that it will always work; read: recent Squeenix games). Kind of like a Michael Bay movie.

Not that I don't like my fair share of AAA games (Dishonored, Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Hitman: Absolution, just to name a few AAA titles I enjoyed), but having a dragged out story is by no means a requirement. And that's not necessarily bad (a game doesn't need to drag itself beyond what it is - Bioshock and Dishonored felt just right at their dozen hour or so campaigns (although it did take me a while longer in Bioshock: Infinite, given how I explored and did nearly everything); The Witcher 2 also ended very well at a reasonable 30h campaign, never getting stale nor feeling short/inconclusive.

Maybe if you're speedrunning. I play games at a fairly brisk pace, but all of those lasted far more than 10 hours for me. Except for Dead Space 2. That only took 9 hours. But 1 lasted over 20, and 3 took me 17 hours to get to the end. Haven't played Crysis 3, but 1 and 2 both lasted well over 15 hours, Metro 2033 was right there, as well. All three Bioshock games took 15ish, and Far Cry 3 was pushing 30 hours before I finished it (and that was still with side missions left over).

Binary Domain is shorter than 10 hours and it's very good, as are Zeno Clash, the Crysis games, and Hard Reset. You could also try Bit Trip Runner 2, it's good.

Not all "awesome" video games are AAA games.

Indie games are video games too, people!

Check this out. You can see the length of any games on there, just search up games.

Games that I think are worth playing within 0 - 12 hours:-

- Portal 2
- Metro 2033
- Crysis
- Crysis Warhead
- Dishonored

Many more, just can't be bothered to list them all.

The Darkness 2. It's like 4-6 hours long depending on your playstyle.
