I was thinking of getting back into Guild Wars - I finished Prophecies (almost, I just couldnt get groups to take out the titans), but then never really bothered with the others. I dont really wanna skip straight to Eye of the North either.

So I was wondering if there are still tonnes of people milling around Factions and Nightfall so I can play them first. I just hate coming back to things to find out no-one is playing them.

See alot of people on American Districts also, even though the Europeans blame us for being leavers. :)

Ya a leaver is very similar to a quitter. For example, You finally got your group of 8 ppl, all builds figured out and you go into a Elite Dungeon like Duncan The Black in Hard Mode. Then in the first time someone dies, they just up and leave. Really quite lame actually.

I was on the European Servers, and I they were talking about how Americans seem to like to leave alot, so I ensured them I wasn't one of those kind of players. It was kinda funny.

o yeah i remember that. plenty of europeans have done that in there time too believe u and me. very annoying. i always stick it out...ive had some great groups that have still gotten through tough missions even with a high DP. good times those...we all joked about dying alot.

yea the only time i leave is when the group decides to leave it or my connection dies (the new recovery system for network problems is great in GW. well new-ish)..

The major problem with Guild Wars is that because of the instancing, if someone quits you either got to stick it out, or all of you have to leave. Another downside was that if somebody was being a prat, you couldn't kick them either, so anyone could destroy a whole party at a whim.

aye...its a bit narly. maybe of Anet implemented a system whereby the difficulty level would go down a bit to compensate for the loss (so basically its rebalaned for 7 instead of 8 for EG). or perhaps the game could sub ure lost party member with a suitable henchman (eg if u loose a monk then mhenlo will come in and take over for the healing...even having the same stats and skills as the lost player to at least minimise the loss). as for kicking...not a bad idea but ti should be done by vote.

well its not for everyone. its very different from the WOWs and EQs of this world. personally thats what i like about it (i cant emphasise this enough...i f*&%^ing hate everquest.....i dont usually hate a game but that disgusts me. its my definition of anti-fun). to each their own though.
