Bad Company 2 - Gray Screen during multiplayer?

I just got it yesterday (thanks to the whole 20 dollar deal loved the beta) and In multiplayer there is this glitch when I join it doesnt show the little overview of the map in the background its just Grey. I can play the game though and it goes away after initially joining the game but is there a way to fix it? I heard it was a common problem with ATI cards.

Oh and another question when you want to spawn on a squad made doesnt it usually show where they are in the background player if they are in firefight or not?

It's not just a problem with ATI cards. I have an Nvidia card and still have it. The problem is annoying, but it does go away once you spawn and die again.

It is so annoying. When this happens to me, the whole thing is laggy and it is very hard to choose weapons

I thought it was because certain servers don't want you to view the map overhead....I get this rarely though.spiderman120988

certain servers, specifically hardcore ones, dont want the kill cam enabled (they feel it gives people an advantage if you can observe your killer)so they grey it out until respawn

its not a bug as far as I can tell, just a server option.

I thought this at first, but for me, it does it in both HC and non-HC servers. Also, sometimes it will be gray when I join the server then go away as the server continues, or it will be fine when I join and then go gray randomly. In servers where the kill cam is off it just goes straight to overview, but this gray thing happens whether kill cam is on or off.

It's happened to me a few times before as well though it's completely at random on the Spawn menu. But it goes away as soon as I spawn so It's no problem.:P

If It is a server option that does seem logical, but like I said It happens at random upon death regardless the server type, I'll get it one time and never see it again throughout the round.

Happened sometimes, I did think that was related to killcam off and squad respawn cam off.
