Why does this game run so bad? I have an overclocked 8800GT, Athlon X2 4000 and a gig of ram and for some reason I'm only getting an average of 30fps. The cut-scenes also have huge framerate drops and sometimes freeze for about 5 seconds, it cant be my hardware because i play games far more impressive looking at much higher framerates. Iv got the latest patch so is everyone just putting up with the bad performance? The game is definitely playable but i just wish it ran better.

Yeah me too, i think this game is really cpu extensive, even though i jumped from a x2 4200 to x2 6000 and didnt noticed a fps improvement. It might be related to AMD too, who knows (yes i have the DC optimizer).

I have the DC optimizer too. But even if the game is cpu intensive i wouldn't think a dualcore overclocked to 2.3ghz would have such a big impact on performance. It is the developers first game i think so that could be another reason.

Although the game is poorly optimized, you should really have atleast 2gig of ram to take advantage of your video card and cpu. 2 gig is bare minimum these days, especially if you are running Vista

I have a lesser cpu/vid card (athlon 3200+/radeon x1650) and before the patch added 1gb of memory (2gb total) and I could pretty much up everything to medium settings (which is good for my computer) with good performance. And another big plus, the save/load times were cut in half.

what processor do you have? From what people write here, it does seem like intel processors run this game much better than amd processors. Everyone here that said they were running the game completely smooth maxed out were running C2Ds.

DISABLE DEPTH OF FIELD

That really helps the cutscene issues. Not many videocards are able to handle that effect, for whatever reason
