Bad RAM causing CRC errors?

As the topic suggests, can bad RAM cause CRC errors on downloaded files? I used MemTest (runs in Windows) and it found God knows how many errors before it even started fully scanning.

I guess it could, but I think bad ram is more liklely to give you bsod's and reboots.

It sure does. Even overclocked RAM can throw seemingly disk-related errors such as the one you described.

Yeah, bad RAM definitely does that, from personal experience. The system may seem stable and work fine in games, but downloading a large demo or something will nearly always give you errors? If memtest is also throwing up errors, it's almost certainly bad memory.
