They are both on GOG but I'm not sure which one to get. BG2 can be played with friends right?

Thanks for your help

If you want to play with friends get Neverwinter Nights. Baldur's Gate 2 can but its more trouble then its worth.

I think baldur's gate is better, especially if you want to play multiplayer with your friends. Of course, Neverwinter Nights is awesome too, but in my opinion Baldur's gate is better.

Baldur's Gate 2, no competition. NWN is the game you play because you've already exhausted the BG games, not something you'd play instead.

Of course, NWN is still a great game, but it isn't nearly as deep as BG2. The story and characters just aren't quite as developed or interesting. Play both, but play BG2 first.

I liked NWN better, and if multiplayer is something you are looking for NWN destroys BG in that regard.

NWN is fun and all, but its got nothing on Baldur's Gate 2 when it comes to story, character, atmosphere, and depth. The party oriented gameplay is also much more compelling than the solo+hireling gameplay of NWN.

Whichever you choose you won't be dissapointed. Its not which to get, its which to get first ;) And I would rec BG2 first.
