I understand 2k Sports has exclusive rights for MLB games. My question is why are they not made for PC? Is there just no market for the game to be ported to PC?
Just wondering because EA Sports continues to make Madden NFL for PC year after year.

I'm dieing for a MLB game for PC. MVP 05 was awesome with mods and DL's for the game. I Love PC gaming and for me, bringing sports games to PC would be the complete package IMO.
I was reading in a print magazine, Games for Windows I think, that Take 2 is open to the idea of bringing baseball to the PC. However, they have a smaller budget and development staff than EA and are waiting for mainstream PC specs to more closely match console specs so it will be an easy port.
Anyone else read that article? I don't remember exactly how they worded it.
The bottom line though is that the market isn't there, otherwise, why wouldn't it be worth it for them to hire more dev staff now.
Madden sales on the PC have been slipping year after year by the way, so hopefully EA doesn't end up doing the same thing (of course it doesn't help that the PC version still doesn't even use the next-gen graphics engine).
You could post the question in Take 2's forums and see what they also. For a baseball fix, you could also look at Ultimate Baseball Online which unfortunately is strictly online only.
^ Yeah, it was a pretty good article. Sports game really don't have a big market on PC. Sports Sims on the other hand seem to do a lot better on PC.
My guess would be they can't figure out a control scheme for a PC version. I've never played a sports game on PC i play RTS's and FPS's so I wouldn't know if the madden control scheme works. I think consoles are better for sports games.warhawk0816
Why would controls be an issue?
There are any number of PC gamepads that are almost identical to the Xbox360 controller, and you can even use the XBox360's pad on the PC if you choose to. The PC Sports games that have a console equivalent I've played have had identical control schemes.
I could see it being an issue if gamepads didn't exist, but I'm not sure anyone plays sports games using the KB+Mouse, and it hasn't really been a very good solution for several years now. The potential extra expense of buying a gamepad shouldn't be much of a hindrance as PC sports games were pretty much all gamepad centric even in the 90's.
