I'm ready to get a new game and i'm stuck between these two, I know one is a 3rd person adventure game and the other an RPG... but I can't decide which one to get first although I will get both eventually. So thats where you guys come into play, help me decide to make my next purchase!

Thanks and to help motivate us here are some images from each game:

Definitely Dragon Age. Batman is basically a roughly 6-hour action movie.

Alright, well... I know it will be difficult to compare, because dollar for dollar, Dragon Age is the better "deal". Batman is a game of decent length, but Dragon Age is a pretty long game. But let's avoid that point for the moment.

As an individual who stops watching movies halfway through, doesn't finish most of the games I play, I find myself picky. Not everyone will agree with the games I enjoy, of course, but it'll give you an idea of where I'm coming from.

I actually finished Batman. I can count the number of games I've finished in the past few years on one hand, and Batman was one of them. It was really THAT good. Dragon Age? Well.. it was cool I guess, but the story was presented in such a poor way AT THE BEGINNING that I never really got sucked into it like I should've.

Let's just make this short.. Batman, totally awesome. Loved every minute of it. Dragon Age? Play Baldur's Gate, enjoy the better experience.

Apples and Oranges

If you wan't a solid action game go with Arkham Aslyum, if you're a D&D fan or fantasy RPG fan in general, then you will love Dragon Age.

In my opinion, I would take DAO over BAA. DAO plays almost like a refined Baldur's Gate 2 minus the length and depth, so if you enjoyed the BG series you will probably like DAO.

Batman is one of those games that is so good that it does not metter if you like the idea or not. Alot of people have issues with the rpg gameplay of dragon age!! I enjoyed both games but Batman is AAA for me!! Most "quality" product i had in years!

I don't know. Both those games are so damn good they deserve a demo play through at the least. Download the Batman Demo for free and get your fill. Also, if you let dragon Age suck you in, 9 times out of 10 it wont let you go.

Own both games and imo Dragon Age is the better game.

Batman has better graphics while Dragon Age lasts longer and was more fun to me personally.

Both great games though!

Batman really surprised me with how good it was! As did Dragon Age!

I think also I am just more of a fan of RPGS then action games, but both are worth playing!

No it is not by far a better game than Batman. It is simply a different game than Batman. Both are very good game.If u ask a avid racing game fan to choose between Grid and COH which one he/she will choose?U cant compare 2 different game from different genre to each other.

I'm not going to say whether one is better than the other, but it looks like you have a little bit of a constraint on when you can buy games. In this case I will recommend Dragon Age because it is much longer than Batman and therefore should keep you thoroughly occupied until you are able to purchase Batman.

I enjoyed it more, why would I recommend a game that I enjoyed least? DAO will last longer, it was funner imo, deeper story. Though I never said that Batman was bad as you seem to want to believe. Though if you want to believe I think that go ahead, makes me no difference.

To be frank, Batman is basically how super hero games need to be done from now on. Innovative in its design and gameplay while staying true to what the Cartoon Batman episodes made so special to us in the first place. It's a game I have labeled as being "done right".

Dragon Age is like a Epic Tale with extremely unique origin starters to pull you in with your created character. With such developed, optional dialog segments you could spend hours of gameplay just getting to know your own party. Its a game made out of passion.

DA:O. Both great games and both should be played, but if it one or the other DA:O is overall a better game from my experience, gameplay and story is nothing revolutionary but the writing and dialogue alone raise it to another level.

Bioware's writers can write some really good dialogue, it's showing in their last few games. Both Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 have some amazing characters. The stories are a bit predictable, but then again there's only so much you can do within the scope of a computer game while still having an epic story.

Ooooof, tough, tough call.

Batman really caught me off guard. I knew it was hyped, but the hype does it zero justice. It is by far one of the most polished games I have ever played. Its just...solid. The production values are amazing (the voice acting is, by far, the best I have ever exeperienced), the gameplay is rock solid, and there is never a dull moment. Any gamer worth their salt will own this game, now or later.

Dragon Age is a great game as well. You get your fix of traditiona DnD RPGness with the setting, classes, and more....but it is updated to be more exciting and full of action. To the diehard this is a bit of a letdown, but to most its a good thing. Party members are interesting, the plot is solid, and voiceacting is also good. Its just an awesome RPG, definately one of the better ones in the past couple years.

So, the ideal solution is this: buy both.

If you can only buy one, it really comes down to what kind of gamer you are: do you prefer action, or do you prefer RPG. If the former, get Batman. if the latter, get Dragon Age.

The only advantage Dragon Age has over Batman is length and replayability, making it the better value, but both are excellent titles.

The demo? Thats a joke in comparison with what the full game is, infact if anything the demo gives you the impression it has repettive stealth moments, which it does not, there are many diffirent things to do and there are gadgets that give you options plus tapes that give you some backstory on the villians, oh and tons of stuff to find and get bonus!! Seriously its addicting to look for those things!

so whats your point, your trying to argue with me and agree with me at the same time? batman demo rocked, it only eluded to the vastness of gadgets and cool **** in the full version. I would love to play it buti havent, the demo helped sell it for sure unlike other demos which turn people off. i could name a recent demo but i dont wanna bring out the trolls

also how do i recieve email updates about replies and stuff? only reason i replied here was cause i stumbled across it. thnx

yes it is around 12-15 hours not 6 hours, dunno where that came from

in terms of quality Batman AA beats DA and has IMO higher productions values it also has waaaaaaaaaaay better gameplay in fact the Gameplay was the best in a game last year IMO

But DAO is a huge world that you can lost in but is more standard Tolkien fare than the dark comic book style of batman

Sure.

First and foremost we have the mod manager

http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=286

I recommend these mods:

http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=91

More shapeshift abilities

[QUOTE="biggest_loser"][QUOTE="F1_2004"]Definitely Dragon Age. Batman is basically a roughly 6-hour action movie.Shadowhawk000
Have you actually played Batman? Because it takes people at least 10 hours to finish that game. It took me close to 15.

Noob?

I'd like to see you complete the game 100% in 6 hours.. You can either run through it, or collect everything. The latter does not take only 6 hours, so go ahead and shove that noob comment in your rear.
