Same, would have been stupid not to be LIVE considering the first was (Relic tried and failed with the multiplayer transition...works like garbage compared to LIVE, terrible matchmaking and terrible client performance during the "loading screen" after the end of a game, takes forever and close to the release it even used to crash frequently).

Well.... looks like I may pass on this one. I have used GFWL in the past and I had nothing but trouble with it.

Yay achievement points for me! I always like GFWL because I like to work on my points with my live account for fun so this is great news. Never had a problem with GFWL except when my router was broken and the PnP wouldnt work.

I'm in concurrence with pretty much everyone in the thread; I have never had any issues with GFWL, so this news never affects whether or not I will purchase a game. I really don't understand why it's so hated by the PC gaming community...

GFWL didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying Arkham Asylum. I won't let it stop me from enjoying Arkham City, if I get it on pc.

I didn't have much issues with Batman AA using GFWL as it was a single player game with little updates.

Meh, I guess I'll wait till the game goes to Steam. Hopefulyy Skyrim and BF3 as well as Dark Souls can hold me over till that happens. Anybody know how long it took for Batman: AA to hit Steam?

I'll be getting that one on Xbox. I lost all my saves from another GFWL game simply because I changed my user name when I set up an xbox live account. And I have severely blocked internet at my school and saving games through GFWL would be virtually impossible.

So you buy it off Steam but have to have GFWL to run it? I just started gaming on PC so I don't know these things. You could actually try to explain it.

I thought it was strange to remove it and not announce that it was using steamworks. Seems green man gaming got false information, doesn't give me great confidence in them.

You don't need the internet to play; create a "local profile" and you can play offline without any hassles (see this page for directions). Achievements and other online functionality are disabled when you use a local profile, but on the plus side you can play offline without any sort of connection at all. This works for all GFWL games (with the obvious exception of online-only games like Age of Empires Online). Some need you to activate the game once for DRM purposes, but after that you're all set.

LIVE has nothing to do with Steam, just like most games having independent accounts on Steam have nothing to do with Steam itself. It'll be on Steam day 1 or at least in the same week. LIVE is just a feature of the game, it's not a gaming client like Steam.

So you need GFWL to access the multiplayer portion of the game? Which I assume are just the leaderboards like in AA?

Well they just lost a sale. GFWL won't accept my password to log in while in game even though they will on their website. I refuse to even try and troubleshoot this because I shouldn't have to. I just don't buy GFWL titles anymore. Problem solved.

I wish Steam's interface was like GFWL. GFWL actually has a real graphical interface and doesn't feel like an outdated web browser. @PublicNuisance I know what you mean though. I hate when random things don't work well. I hate how every PC game has it's own way of doing things (game save, backups, friends) etc. Luckily for me I've never had a problem with GFWL.
