Battlefield 1943, Bad Company 2 Announced

Electronic Arts studio DICE today confirmed that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is in development, as Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello revealed a few days ago. In addition, the company revealed the development of Battlefield 1943.

Unlike the first Bad Company, which was only released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Bad Company 2 will also get a PC release. DICE promises a "level of fervor to vehicular warfare never before experienced in a modern warfare action game."

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is not expected until early next year, but gamers will still get their Battlefield fix this year as Battlefield 1943 will be released this summer.

A presumably budget-priced release, Battlefield 1943 is a downloadable multiplayer-only title coming to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It will feature 24 player action, three ****c Battlefield locations--Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima--and uses the same Frostbite engine that powers Bad Company 2.

"Bad Company 2 takes everything that players liked in the original and ups the ante - more vehicles, more destruction and more team play," said Battlefield franchise executive producer Karl Magnus Troedsson. "Battlefield 1943 is a new take on a blast from the past ****c coming to life with brand new technology."

Let us hope they have improved the graphics, bf2 and 2142 both have outdated graphics, the BF franchise has the ability has the ability to make CoD series look poor, they just have to improve in certain areas.TfcIan

I for one am hating the artstyle this game is taking. I don't really care about it being in WW2, I like the era. It's the fact that they are going with the cartoon art which is seriously off-putting. If I want hilarious cartoon rape, I play TF2 because that game is genuinely awesome, made by genuinely awesome people. EA are dick heads and they should stick with the gritty and bloody warfare that I adored in BF2. Maybe it's just me? But I played the battlefield games because of their immersive atmosphere and hilarious content. I find nothing attractive about a TF2 rip-off just with bigger maps.Solidus171

battlefield 1943 - a watered down bf1942 with more focus on casual play ( 24 player only???? ).

Bad company 2 - a console focused game coming to pc (tgough i do have hopes that this will turn out a good game since is dice that is the developer )
