Hey, so I just installed Battlefield 2 on my rig and when I try and join a game, it loads the map and then kicks me out because it says 'Punk Buster kicked you out for inadequate O/S privileges' or something along those lines.

I'm the only user on my computer and I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, any ideas? Also, I haven't downloaded anything for the game (updates/patches) so that may be an issue.

I doubt that you'll find anyone online, you need to update to the latest version (yep, the almost 2 gb patch). If it still doesn't work, you'll need to update PB (evenbalance).

Well I downloaded the update, although it said I had already updated the game so I was good. And I still can't joins. Also, the server list only has 2 servers so something is obviously wrong and messed up... I wasn't 100% sure what file to download from the Punk Buster site, although I went into the Battlefield 2 section and downloaded something there. But everything is still messed up. Please help :(

I read in a few places that you have to update to 1.41 first, then update to 1.5. Also, I had trouble with getting kicked for Punkbuster issues until I started running BF2.exe as an admin in Win7 ultimate. Right click the shortcut and launch as admin.

Just tried running it as an admin, no luck. I'll try updating 1.41 first, but it says it's already updated when I downloaded 1.5... I'm **** out of luck right now :(

Uninstall and reinstall BF2 by itself (If you can, dunno if you can if you bought the pack with BF2 and the boosters/expansions). Then install Special Forces. Then install 1.41, and make sure you get the full not the incremental or whatever. Then get the 1.5 FULL and install that

The install of BF2 and its expansions are some of the biggest pains ever. You may want to uninstall the game completely and then reinstall it, then install 1.41 and then 1.5.

Update to 1.4. Then Update to 1.5. The patches require you to install it sequentially.
