I know a few other people have had problems with Battlefield 2 and Vista, but not the same problem I'm having. I can't even install the damn game, which pisses me off. When I put in the first disc, it came up with some message that said "This game has only been tested in Windows XP". However, it still continued the installation. After it told me to put in the next disc, I did so and it installed about half way through.

When it got to the Zatar Wetlands part of the installation, it messed up and said "an error has occured during the installation, please restart installation from the beginning". I tried installing it four other times, the same thing happened. I don't think it's a problem with the disc, because it doesn't seem scratched up, I'm pretty sure this is Vista related.

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? That would be great if someone could help...

Hmm. There is a update you have to download but that's after you finish installing.

Try running the installer as an administrator. When the autorun prompt comes up, choose "Open folder to view files", right click the installer, and choose Run As Administrator. This MAY fix it.

What about disabling UAC? If that doesn't work, I can't think of anything else to try.

Go to the bf2 forums via EA official and post there. Some one will help you or link you to a posting with the same problem.

Umm, you obviously don't know what you're talking about. There are many Direct X9 games that run fine on Vista, it's not going to "crash every hour or every minute." While I certainly don't think Vista was a good choice for gaming, it plays many games just fine... Battlefield 2 is supposed to run well on it as long as you run it as an administrator.
