Battlefield 2142, is it worth it?

Hey I've read the reviews and all that for Battlefield 2142, but i'm not sure if i should get it. What's ur opinions on the game? And is it worth buying? Is the online even fun?

BF 2 if you want modern combat, bf2142 if you want futuristic combat.

With that said, 2142 has some stuff that are better then bf 2, the titan mode is a great new game-mode, and the ranking system is much better and humane then bf2's ranking system.

Yes the ranking in BF2 is terrible. It takes forever to get unlocks and the jets are too powerful. Those are the two things I didn't like about BF2 but they were fixed in 2142.

question BF2 server..

i never join to the BF2 server before cos dun have the CD key. n planned to get one later

question : is the server always full with player.. cos what i concern is this game is out for yrs even the special ops addon. so just worry tat after i buy the game, not much player in the server then i will lose out lot of fun

The combat in 2142 is a bit more fast paced, with actual players shooting at you, AI controlled turrets set up by players shooting at you and people drop-podding all over the place when you are defending a flag/silo/chicken/whatever.

That said B2 is more balanced between the "classes", each has a roughly equal amount of use, 2142 however has an engineer that has a machine gun of decent power, a rocket launcher, the mandatory repairing tool that all engineers in the Battlefield series have and with one upgrade point they get landmines that will rise up from the ground if an enemy vehicle approaches and fly at the vehicle(it takes 2-3 to kill a tank, engineers spawn with 5 in stock)
