I'm thinking of getting this game soon. I've checked the minimum requirements and recommended requirements and my computer meets the minimum requirements but not the recommended requirements. So should I bother to get this game or leave it until I get a better computer next year?

How close to the minimum are we talking about?

I played the beta version with a socket 478 P4 2.8GHz (thats the old version of the P4), 1GB of DDR400 memory, and a 128MB version of a Geforce 6600GT and it worked fine.  I could only play at 800x600 with medium detail, but I could still play it well enough.

Currently I play it on a Core 2 Duo E6400, eVGA 680i mobo, 2GB DDR2 800 memory, and a 7600GT and it runs as smooth as possible.  Dont underestimate the 7600GT cards

The game runs as well as it could on my comp, but mine is a high end rig *loves computer*.  Depends on how close you are to the minimum requirements and what you plan on buying as your new computer.

I had major difficulty playing BF2 on my old comp and BF2 is slightly older and less demanding.  I had to play on the lowest settings if I wanted to play online and my old comp was:
P4 2.8Ghz ( S478 )
1GB DDR RAM
ATI 9600XT AGP Pro 256MB
ASUS P4P800 mobo.

*NOTE:  I could play on Medium settings when i wasn't online and it looked fine, however, single player is boring as bat crap*
