Battlefield 2142 Punkbuster Problems

Whenever I get on a server now, a message on the bottom of my screen saying "PB IMPORTANT: RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkbstrB.exe Inisialization Failed" I have been getting on BF2142 online for about a week now with no problems and have tried turning off my Nvidia Active Armor Firewall but it still doesnt work.

This is a common problem. You have to delete punkbuster and manually install a updated version. There is detailed instructions on how to do this on the EA Battlefield 2142 site. You should have links to this in your Battlefield folder.

If it makes you feel any better, its not your comp that has a problem, PB is just not very good nor stabile...

in Quakewars (also uses PB) its pretty much like flipping a coin if I get booted off the servers, I dont change any settings or alter anyways, the odd thing is that 1 day it does not allow me to go on secure servers at all, the next day its all fine and good...

The error you experience could however be solved by reinstalling PB from thier website, its no garantee tho, and man that program is cluttered and not very user friendly.

Uninstall then reinstall, I had so many problems and had to contact EA so many times its not funny that's why I stopped playing it.
