Really Single player??? I'm still iffy, of course the graphics look good and such but if it really is just BC with 64 players and planes I might wait a bit and see what the actual community says after the hype has fallen a bit.xXDrPainXx

could you please tell me what it is that defines a Battlefield in your opinion? having no singleplayer?

if they have double the amount of people working on it than in BF2 (maybe even more), then why not make a singleplayer?

Im excited. Listen, I trust DICE. I mean if they can take BC2 and port it to the PC and still make it pretty damn good, Im sure they will do good by a real Battlefield game. Those of you saying it will look like BC2 with planes, are being way too broad. Thats like saying a shooter has guns so they are all the same.

Lets wait and see. :) Why doubt a game before its out when the people making it have done good by us thus far.

I'm absolutely blown away and could not be more excited about this game if I tried. I heard they were using the animation system from FIFA for this? well.. good lord.. the animations are absolutely top notch.

My only concern is what we've seen is SP, and that the multiplayer will be scaled down significantly. Large battles but I don't expect to be fighting in high-rises or anything like that. But it would be awesome if we could.

i gotta agree. atleast on the online part. Battlefield as concept is already the winner of modern online shooters.

If they go more the route they did with the single player in Battlefield Bad Company 1 that was only on the consoles, the single player could be great. BC2 made it so linear, BC1 was much more open and fun.

that's true, and i really hope it's good, but i just don't care so much even if it would be mediocre like in BC2. it's all about the multiplayer for me.

good singleplayer shooter would be more or less like Stalker imo, so i'm not expecting anything special on that part with BF3.

Can someone explain the limited edition situation? So, it's $10 more than standard, and you get an extra map. At the end of the trailer it said "Back to Karkland" expansion pack. So, it's not just a map, but a whole expansion? I'm confused.

It should be 12 hours, I personally think that is the standard length that any single player game should meet. I don't know how long DICE has been developing this, but considering how EA has hyped up this game so much. I think they can meet the quota...

three years of development. i don't think that it sounds like whole lot, but with a good (and large) team, it's more than achievable. don't know what their goal with campaign is, though...

I have hundreds (if not thousands) of hours of gameplay in BF2 going against the bots (modded to go to up the 64 player map sizes) if you consider that a part of the single player portion. If they improve the AI (to use cover, act as a squad and actually obey orders) I think that would be the same for BF3.

Game looks very promising. Limited edition goodies are decent as well. One negative is the trend of $60 price tags. Oh well, as long as the game is great. Will pre-order as the game gets closer to release date.

By the way, has anyone noticed that the BF3 cover was done to look like the cover of Bad Company 2? Wonder why they did that.
