I used to love Battlefield games, but I've just become tired of having to buy the new one because it kills off the old one. I've especially become tired of it now because I feel like each new one is worse than the last, yet I don't understand why people act like it's more amazing. I do not like any of the maps in BF4, they're so poorly designed and none of them are memorable, all just look so generic and some play even worse than metro from BF3. The same went for BF3 when it launched, I thought all those maps were shite, it took until the Karkand pack for me to care. Now though, BF4 has been released it is really hard to find a good server, so I just don't bother playing any more. BFBC2 had great maps, some of the best in the series, I really loved playing most of them, yet again though a new BF came out and killed it off.

I've just become tired of having to move to the next one even though it is worse than the last. What really pisses me off is there is no SDK, it isn't like people can make good maps like they can in almost every other FPS on the PC. I mean most online games I play today, I do so for the community made content, developers just create such uninteresting crap these days, especially in map design. What I would give to have an SDK and map makers create such amazing stuff, I mean CS or TF2 just proves what they come up with.

In the end though I just feel like I'm playing a console game, some corporate crap I just cannot have fun in any more. It feels like they're just trying to milk me and what they're selling isn't even good any more, I mean two map packs were release straight away, one of them was remakes of what we've had before....

BF should be a platform, it should make money from community made content and drawing more and more players in. Why I love games like TF2, there hasn't been one released every couple of years, it's grown more and more popular because it is good enough to draw people in and pay money for content.

Sadly DICE will never get that and they'll continue to make the shit they do today, it's a shame because it is a far cry from where they started. I mean BF 1942 was made super popular by DC mod, BF2 had so many people buy it for Project Reality... yet DICE do not see the value in the community.

No DICE have your money now, wait for BF5, or why not effectively buy the game again for all the map packs that you have to buy because the standard maps are shit.

Basically the same as the ones before me have said, really.

The game's not for you man, don't worry, you're not that big of a loss.

I haven't bought a new Battlefield game since they dropped LAN support. The last Battlefield I was addicted to was BF2.

screw these guys, bf4 is unfinished garbage and they think they can charge $110 for it. Last time I ever play a battlefield game and I'm 100% positive people are quitting in droves, unacceptable and I join the rational group of people that refuse to be swindled by these greedy companies. You'll get the apologists that refuse to take off their fanboy goggles but in reality bf4 is trash, if I went back 2 months I wouldn't take it for free, hell, I wouldn't play it if someone paid me to.

- $110 the game is not

- You're 100% positive people are quitting in droves and you would be 100% wrong. There are heaps of servers full of people.

- Most of the "unfinished" things you mention have been fixed, and they are still fixing other stuff.

Haters will be haters.

So no counter-arguments? If you have nothing to say you could've abstained.

Don't even bother. He bags BF4 on every thread I've seen. Maybe something bad happened to him during a match? or maybe he hasn't even played it and just likes to troll?

Or maybe I have no response to ridiculous arguments, and maybe I rag on bf4 all the time because I'm trying to protect people from being swindled by a greedy company that produces unfinished products. I don't give a damn about you two, you are blind and ignorant, these companies are greedy and release products before they are ready and then charge for DLC before the product is even finished. Go ahead and create moronic ad-hominem attacks, to anyone wondering whether you should buy it, DO NOT!

If you paid $110, $60.. then you made your bed. Had you just waited a bit.. woulda been $20-25. With all the issues at launch, I wouldn't have bought it even for that much. Practicing a bit of patience and some research would help matters.

It's fine, you and the TC can both go on a holiday away from BF4 and all these evil EVIL companies, while the rest of us have fun with our friends shooting people and driving around in a gorgeous looking warzone.

Take care now.

Guilty as charged, but I actually paid $80 for the game and $50 for Premium (Australian Dollars).

I normally wait for a while but my friends wanted to start playing straight away etc etc. But I should of and would of saved about $50 total.

I also think this is the last BF i purchase but not for the same reasons. Unless they release a futuristic (and im not talking something that is only 15y from now) battlefield title like the sequel to 2142, im done, can't take the modern theme anymore. Seeing the same vehicles/weapons/generic soldier skins etc. No more...

I don't think you fall into the category especially because you live in Australia. Did EA Origin even have a sale for you guys? That sucks. But you did the right thing if you bought it to play with some mates. My friend and I chose to wait it out because the prices drop so quickly here in the U.S. and we were both too busy to game much.

I made the mistake of buying BF3, thankfully I leaned my lesson and stayed away from BF4. I miss the old BF games, they felt so much better to play.

I didn't realize EA was publishing Titanfall. I thought Respawn was working independently to get away from the control of Activision, I don't see how EA are an improvement.

I'm surprised they agreed to keep it off the PS4.

THAT, I do not understand.. but I'm not surprised. Microsoft striking a deal with EA. MS can afford just about anything right now. It could very well end up being a timed-exclusive if it doesn't hit the sales numbers they want on PC and Xbox. Due to the popularity of the game and surrounding hype, I'm sure it will do well; anything on the PS4 (if it ever happens) will be a bonus.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 it's not dead... Battlefield 3 will still be around for some time and even Battlefield 2 and 2142 are still alive. If you don't want to play BF4 it's your choice, but you don't need to be acting like an drama queen because of that.
