Battlefield: Bad Company 2. How many enjoyed it? (Multi-player)

Now recently I bought a brand new copy of BC2, and it's getting delivered tomorrow. :)

The single player looks solid but I'm more excited about the multiplayer. How many of you thought it was pretty good? Compared to MW2 (seeing as I can't compare Reach) is it better?

It's OK. Nothing too special, and I didn't like it compared to BF2. You'll get some fun out of it for sure though. Personally, Reach is twice as good as this, and I think MW2 is more fun for me overall.

I love it. I loved the first bad company multiplayer too. If you liked that, you'll most likely like BFBC2. You can't really compare it to MW2. It depends how you like to play shooting games. Basically, MW2 = small maps. More shooting and aiming/coordination and fast reflexes.

BFBC = gigantic maps. More tactical.

I really liked it for a couple of months. Then it just got really old to me. BF2 is still much better imo,. millerlight89

Its the best multiplayer FPS on the PC this year imo. I played it a lot when it first came out and still jump in for a game every now and then. Much better than MW 2 in my opinion, but very different as well. It has a few issues like bottlenecks on maps and a bit of lag online, but overall its a blast.

I really liked it, but when I reached level 25 you stop unlocking new gadgets. The fun started to wear off quickly

I enjoyed it though not as much as BF2 and quit after reaching the highest rank that is rank 50.

Badcompany 2 was more about a big battlefield and firefights. Modern Warfare 2 to me was more like going around commando + tactical knifing people (good fun).

I thought it was fantastic, if you like military shooters you won't be disappointed.

Far far far better than mw2. The multi player is great for the most part, though it does get a bit dull after a while. I managed around 250 hours since march so I got more than my moneys worth.

Cons would be:

No team work (i.e. half your team will sit back as snipers spamming mortar strike while the other half are too stupid to realise that a red dot in your base is an enemy and you should kill them rather than letting them kill your team and taking/destroying the ojb).

The carl gustav rocket launcher- Most OP garbage in the game, super effective against vehicles and people. Not as much spammage as there was a while a go but it's still pretty bad.

Not hit reg- dice have a crappy engine and can't fix hit reg.

Maps get old... fast. Seeing how all new maps are just the same current maps for different game modes, there is little to no variation.

Pros:

Great graphics and runs pretty smooth

No shortage of servers and hackers seem to be few and far between.

Lots of weapons

BC2 is a great game, but after being spoiled by BF2 for so long, the gameplay just feels like it's missing a link. If you've never played BF2 though and are coming off of Call of Duty, then you're in for a treat. It'll take a little getting use to though.

pfft mine didn't even work, unable to find any servers no fixes, single player wasn't even that great, i was able to play beta just fine

Play it everyday, there is no better FPS multiplayer experience imo.

I really really enjoyed it, I went on it again earlier because I got bored of reach and it was so amazingly fun.

I thought it was a very average game to be honest.

I had more fun in MW2 even with its imbalances, exploits and P2P.

Single player was like playing another COD game and I didnt care too much for multiplayer as it felt too much like playing a console game, which put me off quite a bit.

I enjoy it a lot but playing the same maps over and over can be a bit annoying. Good thing the new expansion is coming out soon.

One of the best online shooters I've played, destruction really adds to the gameplay. But it doesn't have the lasting appeal previous PC battlefields did, and the single player is below average.

Best multiplayer shooter since Quake Wars in 2006. Currently at level 47 and aiming to lvl 50 before than December. In think that after BC 2 I will not be able to play again multiplayer shooters without environment interaction. Feels so obsolete that BC 2 is a point of no return; for me is a milestone.

Despite it feeling like a console game on the PC, and BF2 and 2142 being much better BF games, I've had much fun with it. 260 hours, says Steam.. There aren't many maps, though, so I'm beginning to get tired of it, but I hope the new expansion will get me hooked again. Still anticipating and waiting for BF3, though. Let's hope that game wont suffer because of consoles.

Great game, but it has so many problems and bugs...

It's awesome, one of the only online games I currently play anymore. It's definetly my favorite BF game since 1942, although I never tried 2142.

I liked it for a while when it came out, then I took about a 5 month break and went back to it for a month and loved it again, now I'm on another break. It gets really repetitive, but all multiplayer shooters are on the PC when they don't have custom maps/mods.

It sounds like a major problem on his end, because the game has always been PACKED with players ever since beta.

It sounds like a major problem on his end, because the game has always been PACKED with players ever since beta.

I really enjoyed it, I beta tested and then pre-ordered. I was quite happy with the game after all the kinks got worked out. The major thing about the game is using the classes correctly. Most people think the Recon class is a strict sniper, when it's not. I ranked my first soldier up a lot using the spotting feature (press Q) and taking easy kills or defending people trying to enter buildings by killing or distracting enemies. That is how you use the recon class. Medics are still the same as BF2/2142, same goes for Assault and Engineer. There aren't any more classes, just the 4. The M1911 is my favorite pistol in the game. Too bad you didn't pre-order, you get the Thompson and m1911 right away and some other stuff for vehicles, it makes starting off a little more fair since you're starting off and everyone is way ahead of you now. If you have any other battlefield games, register them and tie the accounts together to get the M1A1 Garand, which can make things a bit easier since it's strong.

Just look and my time played in my signature and you can see that I love the game. There are tons of servers for every map and gametype. You will have tons of fun with this game. Best modern shooter out right now if you ask me.

I tried to like it but just couldn't get into it.

Do many people still play Battlefield 2? I am considering getting this since I cannot play bad company very well with the video card I am getting (Ati 4550). Does Battlefield 2 run on Vista 64 bit okay?

It's fun but it's not BF really.

It's fun for a while..one of the weaker Battlefield games, though.
