EA has officially revealed Battlefield Hardline via its official website.

The cops-and-robbers shooter is scheduled for release in fall 2014, according to an article on EA's blog (cached here). Executive producer at developer Visceral Games Steve Papoutsis wrote, "The game launches this fall and it’s a brand new series in the Battlefield franchise, set against the backdrop of a genre we all love – the war on crime and the battle between cops and criminals."

I like to see what Visceral Games can do different than Dice. That will be interesting.

unfortunately if its anything like its last 2 iterations it'll be a very expensive, bug-riddled, micro transaction filled mess

I too like the idea of playing as police, but it looked a bit OTT for a police game lol. It does look like Battlefield with a police skin on it.

The new teamwork options may make it interesting though.

I probably won't buy. I see no reason why I should pay $60 for a game. And then pay another $50 for a couple of expansion packs that add a few maps and a few weapons. EA has totally destroyed the entire Battlefield franchise and I for one can't find room to support behavior that basically punishes the gamers.
