It's alright, but really nothing special at the moment. Some of the special skills really annoy me like grenade spam throws 3 grenades at once
I think I'll stick with my TF2...which is clearly what EA is copying from. And while it's free, there are microtransactions which means players with the will to spend will have the upper hand. No thank you.krazyorange
Same here. I'm not sure if EA if blatantly copying TF2 or not (only 3 classes? what?), but it sure does seem like it considering the art style.

You don't just come up with that art style arbitrarily following the amazing success of another game using the identical direction![QUOTE="BlueBirdTS"][QUOTE="krazyorange"]I think I'll stick with my TF2...which is clearly what EA is copying from. Im sticking with battlefield, prolly wont even download this game when its released.Every free game ive played, whether it be mmo or any other genre, has been complete garbage.

What? Without saying too much (still under NDA): that's a very situational skill. Hardly annoying, and maybe even a bit on the weak side.

The game is absolutely nothing like TF2.
And no, you cannot "spend money to get an upper hand" as 'krazyorange' claims. Money is spent on things like clothing. You earn weapons, useable items, and abilities only through combat and simply playing the game.
I have some issues with the store, but the game still hasn't launched, and I'm hopeful that they'll make some changes. Other than that, it's shaping up pretty nicely.

thats a sad statmeant conserdering some free game makers make more money then the ones that charge everyonewe live in a world where you dont allways get what you pay for there are alot of really good free games out there also from what ive read the mircotransactions are for clothings and stuff to make your char look different
Either way, it's annoying enough having achievements in TF2, and the idea of a rewarding tier system is completely unappealing.krazyorange
Until you understand that there's a matchmaking system in place, and that new players with fewer toys will not get matched with high-level players that have the perks of upper-level play.
And there is absolutely no way you (Velocitas) can claim the art direction isn't completely ripped from TF2. It is more obvious than the color of the sky or gravity.krazyorange
You didn't say anything about the artstyle (yes, they are similar in that one regard.) You said "the game is a copy of TF2", which is another way of saying "I have no clue as to what I'm talking about" to anyone who has actually tried Battlefield: Heroes. I play both..and they're nothing alike. At all.

Had you read further, you would have discovered I was speaking of the art direction. Perhaps wielding your amazingly-adept English skills might have provided this information. And as for your claim that I don't understand the matchmaking process...you are incorrect. In fact I belong to a TF2 clan (and have for some time) and your claim that low level players are not matched against those with high-level rewards is erroneous on all counts. Perhaps if you play TF2, you would understand this.BF Heros' art direction is similar but it's a little different, still I prefer TF 2.
As said, new players will play professionals if they don't make a locked server, so that new players won't join them, but imo the new weapons won't make much pf a difference, maybe they will confuse new players, if they don't know about them, but other than that... and does it even have a matchmaking system? o_0 that's something new, I never saw it having such a feature, I know I have just a few new weapons for pyro and the sandwich for heavy and I player with LOTS of players that have them all for every ****that has new weapons.
Heroes gets too boring too fast.
3 maps, 2 teams that are basically carbon copies and like 3 different vehicles. They shouldn't have wasted their time on making heroes. Just focused more on 1943 or BC 2
I think I'll stick with my TF2...which is clearly what EA is copying from.krazyorange
You very clearly know nothing about the game.
Same here. I'm not sure if EA if blatantly copying TF2 or not (only 3 classes? what?), but it sure does seem like it considering the art style.BlueBirdTS
Yes, the colorful art style. But what else?
Let's do some reasonable comparisons here:
HEROES - Free (with optional micro-transactions)
TF2 - Priced
HEROES - WW2-like setting
TF2 - Mining/Evil lab setting
HEROES - 3 player kits
TF2 - 9 player kits
HEROES - 3 vehicles
TF2 - No vehicles
HEROES - Third-person
TF2 - First person
HEROES - Customizable soldiers
TF2 - Only weapon unlocks
HEROES - Match-making for joining servers
TF2 - Server browser for joining servers
HEROES - XP-based leveling system
TF2 - Achievements and stat-tracking, but no XP or leveling up
HEROES - Abilities players can cast, numerous weapons that can be used
TF2 - Set weapons; no abilities (other than the Spy's cloak, similar to the Commando's ability)
I recently got the beta key after 2 months, and it is a very fun game. Probaly the best free game out there, i also play tf2 and they are similar but heroes is not an exact copy. there are still a few problems like sniper rifles can take down a plane in 4 shots, tanks need support or they are useless, and the gunner class is too weak in my opinion.
THA-TODD-BEAST: You make some good points, I don't think Heroes is copying TF2, but the art style may have inspired it.

Then that means that people who have no life and just want to stay inside and play video games all day get the upper hand, which is even worse.

Except I wasn't even talking about TF2. I was referring to BF:H, which I assumed would be pretty obvious..

No. It. Doesn't. Stop making wild assumptions.
Weapons/items are stupidly easy to get. You can get the weapons that people use all the way up to 30 after just a couple games (hell, you can use the starter weapon as a level 1 and still do well against level 30s. There really are no "better" or "worse" weapons..they just have different strengths/weaknesses.) On top of this, you are only going to get matched with people of similar level..meaning they should have roughly the same "stuff" (abilities/items) that you do (matchmaking actually isn't functioning properly in the beta, but because it's pretty balanced regardless, this isn't a big deal.)

Meh, sounds like a washed down version of CoD4/WaW(the xp/lvl system). And i freakin HATE match-making, makes me feel like a console fanboi. And as for vehicles, ill stick with 2142 for that.... next please. Please Log In to post.
