The game has evident hit detection problems, which are more evident when you use a slow rate gun as a 870 or Neostead shotguns. I think that about 15%-30% of bullets never hits the target, which is awful when you flank a enemy to fire a -point blank- 40 mm shotgun and nothing happens. Also, the knife % chances of hit is nerfed (but DICE said that in the next patch they will restore the previous stats of the knife in backwards attacks).

But even with these problems -that were present to some extent in previous Battlefield games- the gunplay is fantastic.

yeap i have to agree with the above post, although the game does have some weaknesses and still has some bugs, overall the gameplay is still heaps of fun, the maps are varied and when you get on a good server with even teams is huge fun to play.

Yeah, poor hit detection is a bit troublesome, especially with high pings. I had to unload a whole clip on an enemy at point blank range from behind just to watch him turn around and knife me from beyond his reach.

Hit detection is quite bad, I'm assuming thats the reason half the people use the CG as their primary weapon.

I might be the only one, but I wish DICE could ban the CG from the game completely. It's too powerful. With bad hit-detection in assault rifles and lag, the only answer to CG is another CG. Thus, we have a game chock-full of Engineers trading off CG rockets. At least DICE should have nerfed the CG on the last patch instead of nerfing the 40mm GL. Edit - And tanks are still too powerful. They need to be nerfed as well.

Agreed on the CG part, it needs to be nerfed against infantry, I cant count the number of times when someone has a clear shot at me, guaranteed kill, and instead of shooting, they take out the CG and shoot a rocket.

Oh great, after years and years DICE still hasn't figured out how to write their netcode properly and thus the hit detection problem perpetuates. They better figure things out before BF3.

LOOLOLOLOL 40MM shotgun fail, I rage so much when that happens. The hit reg is messed up with a lot or almost all guns. Whether or not it's the game itself or servers I have no idea. When you fire a sniper rifle bullet into an enemy, blood pours out and they twitch to indicate a hit yet you get no hit, yeah that's messed up. I notice the 1911 seems to have horrible hit reg with only 3-4 of the 7 shots hitting a stationary target in cqb.

oops forgot about this thread sorry:) but like with the hit markers i can get the automatic shotgun (saika i think its called) i will be right behind a guy and do 3 shots pointblank range at the head. it says i hit him but he doesnt die so then i have to get into a huge firefight and maybe win/lose. but yes even though there is lag there are some servers that are really nice when it comes to that. i also know rush is made for lots of people but i just got done playing one with 10 on both sides and that was epic.

I have to agree, but i think its also some other factors. I have been using the m16 a lot recently. If you aim down the sights and fire, pretty much all of your bullets will hit, usually the last one in the burst that will miss. If you try to move and aim down the sights accuracy goes to s***. Seriously, It looks like a shotgun. So my suggestion is to try and stand still when you shoot.

have to agree with you mate, i use the M16a2 which is a burst fire weapon, and when using sights i never really complain about hit-marks as it seems fairly good, but when i start hip-firing/spraying the accuracy goes to custard, so now i try to set myself before firing.........funnily enough its improved my performance as well :)

I rarely if ever get problems like that..I occasionally get the knife problem or shoot them and see blood but it doesn't registered, but that is quite rare.

My only problem is when the knife doesen't register. Makes the knife useless 30% of the time.
