I see that the trend is this..." I have a *insert a number from two to five here* year old computer and I can play half life 2 just fine but this new game crysis, i cant play it maxxed out...why the he!! not??" If your gonna start off yoru threads starting anything resembling this just shut it! Ive never heard pc gamers gripe so much about an upgrade...did you expect that 7800 or x800 to last the rest of our life time or something? If you can get a playable framerate no matter what resolution this game is incredible. the amount of immersion puts a lot of other comparible games to shame. So enough of the "my crappy computer cant max out crysis...so obviously it sux!" threads.

what about modern computers that cant run it as good as Cevat said? Most people are complaining about this, why they said a dual core and 8800 card would run it close to maxed out, while its currently not the case.

Exactly. I play the game on med/high with 8800 GTS, E6600 and 2gb to get playable performance.

Maybe Crytek meant that we could max the game on 800x600.

once again...ur VERY uninformed. They never said you could max out crysis on modern hardware..thats the point. Thats why they said there is another year or so life in it. WOW...even in THIS thread someone is mad that they cant max out a game that they said you wouldnt be able to max out...this is funny. So i take it that almost everything on very high on yoru gtx and c2d isnt enough?

i suggest you go read some interviews of Cevart Yerli, he clearly says more than once that a dual core and 8800 would alsmot max out the game, but my setup along with a lot of other people cant even get playable framerates at med/high, wich isnt near maxed out. What do you expect, this game was hyped alot, crytek made promises they didnt keep, do you think no one will complain? If everyone just ignores the fact that they dont keep these said promises, companies will keep going this way....

Yerli said MANY MANY times that med/high is playable on this generations hardware...i think its a blessing that my gtx will play everything but shadows on Very High. Ive got an idea...since med/high isnt enough for you just stop playing pc games altogether....since you think you should be able to max out the newest game on an 8800 that is now a year old....sheesh...

i got a dual core/8800 the main thing seems to be having a dual core, most people complaining have single.

Now dont shoot me but,....i didnt think the graphics were THAT great, i had em all maxxed and yah they were very good but they didnt blow me away, looked like quake4 had a baby with far cry....

Demo was ALRIGHT, wasnt mind blowing.

Still downloading it, but I'll just say that I don't really understand how people seem happy with getting 25fps @1024x768. If any other game performed like that it would be universally bashed by everyone, but maybe there's something in Crysis that separates it from the rest of the pack, I just hope that something isn't hype.

of course, youre another of these people that arent bothered by low fps, mainly because they usually play on console and are used to low framerates... You max it out, but probably at 1024*768 at 20fps.

I have a 8800 , 2GB RAM , Q6600 and run nearlyt everything on Very High ( I turn post processing down because of motion sickness) at 1650 x 1050 ... Cevat was dead on the mark imo.

For people that are wondering why their computer won't run Crysis, The key seems to be in dual core, just like Colin Mcrae DIRT. New games are optomized for Dual Core, and run very well. Even with my older Radeon X1600 pro I could play Colin Mcrae with everything but Shadows on high. I have an Athlon X2 4200+, Radeon X1950 pro 512mb, 2GB ram, and I can play the game at 1024x768 with three options (NO AA):

1) Everything on high except for post Processing on Med and Shaders on Medium

OR

2) Everything on high except Post Processing on Med and Shadows on Med.

OR

3) Everything on high at 800x600 (but I like 1024x768, crisper)

Either Shadows or Shaders down to Med gives me a big FPS boost. I'm getting between25-35 FPS.it looks like a great game, Far Cry with some twists. For those people that say the view distance is huge, so was Far Cry's, just because the view distance is huge, doesn't mean the game is gonna run like a slug, if you look at the resolution of far away textures and trees, you'll see a big difference from what's close (obviously).

Is Very High even an option? On my Graphics settings, Very High is greyed out.

tsk tsk, here we go again.A company releases a game that requires more engine power then whats currently available and they get shunted, to say it nicely.

I think i've scanned some 100 pages of Crysis degrading material and i've yet to see anyone compare this to the release of Doom 3. When Doom 3 was released you needed a topped out Alienware ALX station to play that on max, now aday's you can throw it over your shoulder with a 7900GTX.

No one has commended Crytek(sorry, no honor for EA on this, you suck!) on the job they've accomplished. They've once again ventured a digital freakin' minefield to come out with something that would set the bar (yet again) for games. I've yet to see a single person stop up and think; "Hey' a year from now we'll all be playing this on Very High with low/Mid range machines, and it'll still floor anything that'll be on the market by that time". Sure we can't play it on very high, or even high for many of us, but you fellas know what, the game looks fantastic on just medium settings. There will come a time where everyone will be looking back on this game and thinking how it really changed games as we know them.

I have a dual core and 8800gts 320 and canplay the game with med-high settings, and that's perfectly fine because the game still looks great and the gameplay iskicks ass. I don't see why everyone is constantly complaining about the graphics,, you can still enjoy the game(not to it's full potential)if people lower the settings.

The only problem I have is that I think the demo is not fully optimized yet. There are times when I can put everything onhigh andplay with a good 25-30fps(that'sin different areasand while i'mfighting the enemey). Then, while i'm not doing anything much besides running it'll drop between 10-15fps and not really change from that. Also, there are times where i'll put everything to medium andmy fps is only between 20-25. then again this just could be mypc sinceI don't see anyone else having this problem.

there arent only gtx's you know, a 8800gts is still an 8800, and 3800X2 is still a dual core, and thus falls under the category " dual core and 8800", wich cant run the game nearly as well as promised by crytek. The thing is, i dont mind, ill play it once with lower settings to enjoy it fully, and when i upgrade ill play it on higher settings. What bugs me is that they dont keep their promises. Also, whats up with you being all defensive, cant you just discuss peacefully without having to call people with different opinions console kids and smart as*es?? Geez

I have an Xpertviosion 7900GT/GTO GTX Clocks AMD 3700+ Solo running on 2,65 gigs 2gigs ram

I can run the game perfectly, but no aa all on max under XP (high settings)

Remember this is a Demo not the full game every full game runs better then the demo,

Jericho demo runs like **** the full game runs smooth 30/40 fps

Crysis runs 25fps30fps/ medium shaders 30/40

Even with Doom 3 it was playable even on lowest settings! I ran Doom 3 on my old Geforce Fx 5200 at 1024x768 near medium settings with descent fps.I could care about maxing out games but I draw the line when ur Pc cant even play a game with a steady 30 fps on lowest settings. Even your Pc passes min. requirements and is almost or passes recomended system specs needed and fps goes between 15-45!

Uhh.....I have an old crummy computer and I played through crysis demo on low settings at 800*600.....and I had a blast. It ran at a solid 30fps.

If you cant get crysis to run on low then you must be on an EXTREMELY old machine, then I wonder what business you have installing crysis anyway. You knew it was very advanced, so with a machine so old, why bother?

[QUOTE="31337r4v3n"]I see that the trend is this..." I have a *insert a number from two to five here* year old computer and I can play half life 2 just fine but this new game crysis, i cant play it maxxed out...why the he!! not??" If your gonna start off yoru threads starting anything resembling this just shut it! Ive never heard pc gamers gripe so much about an upgrade...did you expect that 7800 or x800 to last the rest of our life time or something? If you can get a playable framerate no matter what resolution this game is incredible. the amount of immersion puts a lot of other comparible games to shame. So enough of the "my crappy computer cant max out crysis...so obviously it sux!" threads. greatmax1
what about modern computers that cant run it as good as Cevat said? Most people are complaining about this, why they said a dual core and 8800 card would run it close to maxed out, while its currently not the case.

I suggest your comp sucks. I running it almost maxed in 1280 by 1024 res with 40-60fps on a E6600 8800 rig with 2GBs of RAM.

my problem is probably my 4200x2, its probably too weak for crysis, yet it is still a DUAL CORE and is supposed to run crysis almost maxed out at good fps when paired WITH A 8800, wich i have (8800gts). So maybe my pc sucks, but it should still run crysis almost maxed with playable fps according to crytek (assuming they didnt LIE).

The game is CPU intensive because a quad core with an 8800gts beats a core 2 duo with an 8800gtx.

E6700 + X1900XT + 2GB RAM = Playable on all high at 1280x720, however I like to play at all high with shaders, shadows, and post-processing at medium at 1680x1050. Technically I can max this game at a lower resolution (720p), come on people 720p, that's pretty dang good, and on an X1900XT. besides, the game looks great on medium anyway, especially if you can afford putting textures and water detail on high, medium looks glorious, it's just missing some shader affects, like that washed out fog look. Crysis's performance is consistent with the workload the engine has to deal with. Rendering as far as the eye can see, nice shader effects, shadow effects, rendering dozens of trees, extremely realistic looking character models (have you seen those faces!?! They look so real!). If you can run it on medium at playable FPS, you're gonna have a good time, if you can run med/high settings, all the better. I bet if they medium was the highest the detail could go, and became "max". Everyone would be happy, because they can "max" it. It seems people try too hard to "max" the game and forget that it still looks REALLY GOOD on medium, and plays REALLY GOOD.

Larger monitors do not look good in 720p at all. It's either an ugly stretched image or the fixed with black bars around the image.

Agreed, doesn't look good unless at a distance or it's 1:1, hence the "however I like to play at all high with shaders, shadows, and post-processing at medium at 1680x1050". The bigger point of my post being that it looks great at medium and great and playable at medium/high settings.

I have a macbook pro that played the game all medium at 1024x768. It isn't anywhere near the specs of a high end comp. People need to figure out that the game is simply not completely optimized for every setup LIKE MOST GAME DEMOS. Freaking ridiculous.

Remeber that when FarCry came out the top card at the time, the FX5950Ultra,could not max it. So why do you expect FarCrysis to run maxed on the 8800Ultra?

Knock Crysis? Crysis looks better than any game out on low settings on my computer from 2004. Not only that but it is a blast to play. Crysis is a fantastic game, there is really nothing anyone can knock about it... other than their preferential based opinion.
