Hi guys. I'm a ps3 owner looking for a decent hdtv. While searching for one, I came up to this monitor of Benq. It is full HD (1080p), and capable of working with the new gen consoles (with HDMIthing). Also it's much cheaper than any full HDs around. It's a bit small but, I have a small room anyways so that's no problem for me. I was just abput to buy this when I came up to a user review, saying that there are some sort of lagging problems when it's working with a fullHD game, making it disturbing to play them. But I toguht that this was the main difference of 1080p from 1080i, that it works smoothly in full HD. So does anyone of you own this produst? Will you recommend it to me, or does it have problems fith HD video games? Thanks in advance.

And this is the product I'm talking about: http://www.benq.com/products/LCD/?product=997

Try this forum: www.hardforum.com, there's like a 188 people viewing the display are alone.

Though, they often have official threads for popular displays. The one for the FP241W (don't know the difference between vW and the W) is a 183 pages long, 3,600 posts, probably a lot of people that know about it there:

Here's a thread of someone that's posting how they just got the FP241VW:

If you search I'm sure you'll find more threads like that.

Also here's a BenQ FP241W vs. FP241WZ vs. FP241VW thread:

I own a FP241W - I must have original firmware because it doesn't have the 1:1 pixel mapping option. I play my 360 on it with VGA and it stretches the image to 16x10... Not a huge issue for some, but it's pretty annoying to me. I love it as a computer monitor though at 1900x1200. If MS made 1900x1200 an option on the xbox and added their own blackbars that would help fix this but i doubt that will ever happen. I have no idea what a 360 elite or ps3 would look like on this with hdmi - hopefully it would display at 16x9.... Apparently a new firmware (The 2nd update?) should be out soon to fix any woes, but it would take I'm currently trying to find more info on LG's 24" Monitor, which looks quite promising... you can find it for ~ 600 but it only has 1 hdmi/dvi and 1 d-sub/vga input.

I have the first firmware update on my FP241W, it's pretty damn good but not perfect. I have heard the VGA 1920x1080 problem is on the 360 end and not the monitor's end because it's happened on some other displays too, but I don't really know for sure.

kidkit, I think that's a problem with xbox. But apart from that issue, how you had any other problems with games? How do they generally look like? Because in other forums I also saw that the new "perfect motion" thing makes the picture flicker when playing games.
