Best 2 player LAN game

Hey guys. My dad and I want to play some good LAN games 1vs1 game. (bots are welcome)

anyway we have been playing Company of Heroes and were getting tired of it. We would like to know what are the best 2 player LAN games (bots are welcome) We prefer if we can just use one CD and Key, for example we tried Halo and we couldent get one CD and one CD key to work on 2 seperate computers. In otherwords we would like to only buy one copy of the game.
