I would like to buy a 22 inch 3D monitor. I know of two monitors are that are 3D capable. I want to know if anyone has either of the two monitors below and what they think about them. If there are other 3D monitors out there or coming out soon please let me know. Also below is a list of the features I want from the monitor. I am leaning towards the Samsung as I have always loved there products. thanks for any help.

Samsung 2233RZ 22inch

Viewsonic VX2265wm 22inch

Features

-Nvidia 3D capabilities (needed)

-minimal 1080p resolution (needed)

-ability ro function as a perfect non-3D monitor (needed)

-HDMI connection or the abilitiy to connect HDMI through DVI-to-HDMI adapter (needed)

-button to switch from 3D mode on monitor instead of having to change settings through the computer (optional)

-ability to adjust height of monitor, and also twist the monitor to stand vertically (optional)

-wall mount on back of monitor (optional)

I dont think any 22" monitor is able to use nVidia 3D vision...from what i know you will need a 30" monitor at least...but maybe iam wrong.

i wanted to know if anyone had personal experience with the 3D monitors. the fact that i know 22 inch monitors can work with 3D does not mean that i know "so much" as you say. congrajulations on going into forums and writing pointless garbage, is that how you reached level 23 on gamespot?

Please, allow me. I have the 2233RZ and can vouche for it. I've had it since last year and games are mind blowing on this thing. I'll be honest I haven't used the 3D feature yet, since I'm not really into it. I got this monitor for the 120hz and all my fps games are as fluid as my CRTs ever were. That was the main reason why I didn't want to 'downgrade' to an lcd. But this is no downgrade.

For reference, I also have Samsung's flagship tv now.. the 46B8500 which is a locally dimmed LED hdtv that can compete nicely with the Pioneer plasmas (can't say that often). My 2233RZ has about as good picture quality in games as my hdtv. The contrast is excellent and again.. the framerate on this monitor provided you have strong enough hardware has left a permanent smile on my face.

Movies, such as blu-rays, on the other hand aren't very good with this monitor. They all turn out grainy no matter what you try. But the 2233RZ is a gaming monitor and I would suggest perhaps the greatest gaming 22" gaming monitor. This is coming from someone that gamed hardcore on a 24" Sony FW900 CRT so to say I'm demanding is an understatement.

Hope this helped!

thank you for your input. So from my understanding, based on what you said, the monitor works perfectly as a gaming monitor without the 3D technology running? Also you mentioned blurays don't look great on it, i don't really care about that however, how does streaming video like hulu.com, gametrailers.com, and gamespot.com look? How does non bluray video look?

On a final note, i am a web designer and graphic designer,, i use adobe photoshop, dreamweaver, illustrator, flash, etc... will this monitor portray what I do and the colors accurately with that software? thanks for your further help.

I have the Samsung 2233rz with Nvidia 3D vision and it is incredible.

3D really is the future.

3D gives game depth which really isn't possible on a 2D screen where things are flat.

Asus is releasing a 27inch 3D monitor soon so I'd wait out for that.
