The Microsoft wireless Mic is probably the best for the price. The Turtle beach headsets are freaking expensive.

Whats your range? I assume you don't want to spend much. Tritton and turtle beach both have a stereo headset that works with the 360 (Tritton also withs with Ps3) for around the $50 range at Best Buy

The bad thing about the Microsoft wireless headsets is the fact that they always usually go out after 1, 2 or 3 months. 90% of people know this..I've went through about 5 of em..had to keep returning them to WalMart (they have a 90 day warranty) until I got fed up and went back to the wired ones (which die as well, but not as quickly as the wireless). If you can afford the Turtle Beach get it..someone told me those never die. And no I don't abuse my stuff, they all were in pristine condition..something about the inside workings that make them go out (probably cheap parts like most of what the 360 is made of).

I don't really care about the price... but obviously I don't want to be spending 200 bucks for something that is really crappy. I've been reading the reviews on Best Buy that say the highest end Turtle Beach one "cracks and pops" a lot (the 200 dollar model). I'm thinking a lower-end Turtle Beach. (around 100 bucks)

I'm not sure I'd want to get the MS one just because it looks like it doesn't offer high quality sound, which is what I'm after the most. I do have friends I play online with so a sturdy mic would be a plus, but it looks like they all die within a month or so.

Tritton AX Pro then. or AX 720. Difference? pros are true surround sound and 720 are virtual played over 2 speakers just like the TBs

Turtle Beach has some great varied options. They have the XLC for just a little more than the Xbox communicator and your getting a full fledged headset, then they also have the X1 posted recertified for like 10 dollars more. Of course there wireless headsets are teh best you can get IMO i use the X41's
