so i am upgrading my computer soon(well today) and i decided early on that i should get the 8800 gts 640mb card because it seemed the cheapest way to future proof my self and guarentee the highest settings i could get on crysis. i was going to get one for only 330 dollars on dells website but then when i went to order it today... it went back up to 380. so now my choices are with the more reliable but more expensive(in this case) newegg. iv narrowed it down to three cards.

evga = $380, or $350 after mir

same pny from dell but from newegg= 380, 350 after mir

or if i really splurge evga overclocked=394,365 after mir, i want to stay away from this one.. but if it really will make a big difference let me know....

if there is some other card or option that is a better idea or a cheaper one please please let me know... like i said before i sorta need to do this by the end of today.

The superclocked will not bring that big of an increase in performance, so I would go for the EVGA.

I'd get the EVGA since they have a good step up program. Or, you can just get the 320MB version (if your playing under 1680x1050).

the best in terms of performance is theXFX 8800gts 320mb XXX edition. it performs better than the 8800gts 640mb stock consistently. however itspretty expensive. i would go with a regular evga one, they have a better warrantythanxfx and a step up program.

It doesn't really matter witch brand you get all are more or less the same almost all cards have the same layout and most of the overclocked models with standard heat-sink is an overclock you can make your self (only plus is that you have warranty on those pre-overclocked cards )

but like posted a few posts before those small overclocks don't make a world of difference.

If I where you I would go for the cheapest instead of paying more for practically the same card with maybe a game in the pack you don't want

EVGA might have the step-up program, but there warranty is only half as good as XFX. XFX had double-lifetime warranty. So when/if I sell my 8800GTX whoever buys it will have a lifetime warranty too.
