Hi experts,

The stock cpu cooler for the AMD Phenom II X4 555 is indeed loud. Do you have any suggestions. Im thinking of buying the Corsair water cooling unit but is it worth the price tag? Is it really that quiet and drops the temp well? Im not planning of OCing right now, Its kinda fast by default speeds. Im also having the same issues with my VC, its a PNY Nvidia GTX 470. But at least its fan is not as loud as the AMD cpu...Thanks guys!

The Corsair H50 is good, but worse than air coolers in a high-airflow environment. It all depends on your case and how many fans you have in it.

If you are looking for the absolute best CPU cooler right now, that will always go with a full-fledged water loop, aka NOT the ones from Corsair, CoolIT, Asetek, etc. But for something that is relatively easy to install, then the absolute best would have to be the Corsair H70.

Corsair H50, thermalright venomous X, Noctua NH-D14 are well known coolers but if your really not ocing the stock cooler should be good enough :) also yes it is quiet unless you want to do a push pull config then go with low cfm fan with a decent rpm speed.

I use the Corsair H50 cooler on my dual core athlon 2.7 GHz and it idles at 17-20c and under full load its around 30-33c, so i would proly say the H50, its 80 bux.

Dont pick up the 212+ from newegg. Its very popular and newegg jacked up the prices.

It can be found for 30 or less from other places.

I need to get a hsf for my amd 955, not for O.C. but for the high noise level. Was looking at these myself but haven't made up my mind.
