Ok, so I currently have Eset Security Suite which uses Nod32 3.0 a very well known antivirus.

Now some dude went into my PC and said that I had a crappy antivirus. Ofcourse I didnt believe him. He scaned my pc with my antivirus and found no viruses. He then installed avast antivirus and scanned my pc with it and found 1 virus that eset hadnt found. I mean Avast is fine, but it shouldnt be as good as eset right?

What are your prefered antiviruses and why?

Could you guys give me some sites were I might find some chrts. I went to PC world but I found their crts a bit outdated.

I've been told that the Avast package is really good and picks upon everything however, it makes your system run slower. Mcafee or Norton are ok I'm using the AVG Free Edition cos I'm a cheap 15 year old lol still does the job though.

Yup, highly rated program http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=76&threadid=2108933&enterthread=y and you can essentially get a 3 license version for free from fry's (after rebate).

Symantec Endpoint Protection 11. Doesn't affect some programs from loading like NOD32 and it has a very small footprint so it doesn't hog system resources like some other protection suites. SEP comes with everything. Kaspersky is also good but it's registration process to renew subscriptions is retarded.

Mmm, I justuse avast!

It's free, and I haven't been hit by a virus for a while, so it suits my needs :).

G013M

That you know of :)

There's actually a fair amount of commercial product now that are 'free', free as in the require a rebate, but a good deal none the less: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=40&threadid=2091004&enterthread=y
