From experience all surround sound headsets are crap compare to a good pair of stereo headsets.

Appearently there are some good ones like the medusa's. But razer is comming out with a digital 7.1 surround sound headset called Megalodon. It does look promising and appearently will preform very well. I is being released soon. (Q1 09) 150$. Uses military grade technology. You dont really need multiple speakers in a headset to have surroun sound. Why? Because in your ear there is only one opening in which sound waves enter. Essientially it is just different volumes due to the locations of the speakers. So this new headset should do the trick. PLUS it will have fantastic sound quality:) Hope that helps.
