Ok I need a new computer like a dead man need a computer, but the problem is, I dont have that much money and I need to get one where I can upgrade as I go along, there for leading me to barebones kits. The only issue is I dont know how much is a reasonable amount to spend on a barebone kit to lead from being a basic PC to a PC that gives games like Sup. Commander & Unreal Tourney 3 choke-slams like people walk. I basicly wanna start basic, then make it big.

Why don't you just make it big from the start?

If you wanna go cheaper, get an E6420 or E6320 processor. You can also switch for a 7900 graphics card if you wanna go really cheap.

Well you can either a) go AM2 and hope the new K10 CPUs will work in your mobo later in the year http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16856110073or b) go with Intel and drop a quad-core later on. On-board graphics for now and later add a nice video card.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16856167008

Okay Basic for...about $475here you go! w/ this PC you can upgrade the Display card later as well as more RAM and a quad core CPU!

When you have saved up enough just get a 8800GTS 320 and you are swet to Go!!!

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale 1.8GHz LGA 775 [W/ a litle OC you can hit 2.4Ghz on stock cooling, could also get the E4400]
$114.50

GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX [Support 8 gig's of RAM and Quad Core]
$99.99

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
$89.99

Western Digital Caviar SE WD3200JS 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
$79.99

GIGABYTE GV-NX85T256H GeForce 8500GT 256MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16
$94.99

you could get a 8600GTS or a 7600GT but the 8500GT is the lowest of low :) just something to use untill you can get a 8800GTS

That rig is fine but please take note that majority of 7 series cards outperform the 8500. The 8500 is basically for watching movies and playing OLD games.

It WILL work, because AMD would be absolutely insane for it not to. They need to help ease their current install base into their new chips and AM2+/1207+ is how they are doing it.
