Best budget 2.1 speakers?

Looking to spend about $30, maybe $40 if they are really good. I will use headphones more so I don't want to pay a lot. I will also consider 2.0 speakers if they are much better quality for the price than a 2.1. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

If you can get then Creative Labs L3500, then I would recommend it with no hesitation. I am not an audiophile or anything, but these speakers sound fantastic. I'm thinking either Altec Lansing VS4121 or Creative Inspire T3100. Both refurbished they are cheap

X-230s aren't on sale anymore? Those were awesome before i got the Z2300s.......

They discontinued those and replaced them with the worse X-240's. I can't find them for sale anywhere now. They also discontinued the X-540s but there are some refurb ones on ebay for $48, I don't know if I could set those up to be 2.1 since I don't really have room for all the speakers.

I too am looking for PC speakers. I will use this info.
