I am making my friend that wants to get into pc gaming a rig, but he only has about 1k usd right now and he wants to play with it until bulldozer comes out later this year.

He needs everything except windows and keyboard/mouse.

So far I have made him this.

Case - Coolermaster haf 922 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119197

Hard drive - 500 gb - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148701

Screen - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009299

Mobo - AM3+ - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157248

GPU - gtx 560 ti - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127569&cm_re=560_ti-_-14-127-569-_-Product

PSU - corsair 750 watt - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006

Ram - 1x4gb - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231310

CPU - phenom 2 x4 955 BE - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103808

The cpu will be swapped sometime after bulldozer relases. Does this seem like a reliable rig until bulldozer and can it support it?

Well since you have an AM3+ Mobo it should support bulldozer. But since BD is coming out in a month or two you could wait or buy a cheaper CPU, like a quad or tri athlon. Maybe a dual channel RAM kit. If you plan to OC, you would want a CPU cooler but you might want to wait until bulldozer comes out to confirm the cooler will work with the socket

I won't even build anything until BullDozer is out. By then, anything can happen, such as a new GPU announcement out of nowhere will scare the crap out of you. Wait for June!

Seconded!

Some boards now sport AM3+ sockets. They may work fine but I'll let that to be decided only after AM3+ CPU's finally hit the market and benchmarked on them.

Get a 1TB HDD I say. The GTX 560 looks perfect.
